i bought a similar manni, and had the same issue and had to cut and reweld the flange, so i am curious to see the location of the turbo and how close it is to the valve cover. i might be interested in one if it pans out

You could put a T88 on and it would hit your valve cover.

i have the ebay edition w/ a gt40 on it, no problems with turbo clearance against the valve cover. mine is rb26 only though. maybe the 26 manifolds they clearance the t4 flange further from the head. most likely, their quality control is just crap and i got lucky w/ the placement of mine. i've since gotten a non-knockoff manifold and my ebay edition setup w/ tial wg will be FS soon probably. doubt anyone would be interested though

Did you mean to say a T88 would NOT hit your valve cover?

So a Garrett GT42r should fit fine, correct??

If you all are just worried about valvecover clearence, then dont be, unless you have something bigger than a t88, with a 17. the 22cm you will be a grinding/valve cover changing man, but i dono if any of you have seens a 22cm t88, the exhaust housing in ungodly huge.. Any garrett that is T4, that I have ever seen will work fine, your gt42 should fit fine. I will happily take pictures with different exhaust housings I have laying around. I think I have a HX40 19cm, O trim 70 a.r, Some chinese t61, a few other garretts, laying around the shop. The holset would be simaliar to a very very large garrett, it is not even close. You guys are thinking about a completely different manifold. You are talking about that piece of junk on ebay that has the t3 flange pointed at the head. It is for a rb30 in austrialia, and the flange is not even made right in the first place. I will post pictures when i get to work.EDIT here is what i have on my computer at home, I will post the pictures later at work also. This is my personal toy. God I love my job sometimes. This is a to4e 52t 60ar with a otrim 70a/r if i remember correctly on a 33

They are Garrett 2876r's (close to the old 2540's but rated at 460hp of air each.

I plan on holding on to that set up until I'm sure I'm happy with going single. I mainly want to unclutter the engine bay. The twins, and their supporting parts, take up alot of room, and the placement of the rear turbo's inlet is not ideal.

The workmanship is top notch on the manifolds. They were made by James Thagard (240z Turbo) along with most of the other hard parts under the hood.

The motor is a R33 with stock prepped R33 crank, Jun oil pump, JE pistons, Carrillo rods, ATI race damper and the head is ported/polished with Tomei 264/ 9.7 cams. Intercooler is custom Garrett core 24x12x4.5. Clutch is a twin plate HKS with a RB25det 5 spd trans.

I'm running a TEC3r standalone.

Thanks for askingjoel

it interested me also, popped the exhaust wheel out, it is a pretty damn good copy of a p trim cut back. I did not pull the compressor apart to find out if it is all to4 standard stuff, but externally frontplate and all, it looks garrett to mewould be fun with a to4r front end on it.

I received the manifold today. I must say, this manifold is nowhere close to the same quality than the cheap China knock offs.

After having several of the ebay manifolds in hand to look at, this part is much better quality.I have not got to trying to fit it yet, but I can tell you it will not have a flange sealing issue. They are nice and flat, nice and thick, and are indeed welded from the inside and outside as described by Will.

If anyone would like a particular pic taken, just ask and I will try and take what ever pic you'd like.

Stec- motorsports also does tig welding, he says it will not clear the steering on a 240, but if you do show him how to make them, he will if you wish, you may have to send the flange if you want other than 50mm hks

call me a b**** but I would still rather have my 6boost. Soon to be running btw. Shouldnt be much past May 1!

EDIT: Not to be a wet blanket on a fire, but the collector on that manifold looks like d!ck. I'd be worried about some of that choppy weld material eventually corroding, breaking loose, and running through the turbo. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Did it come like that or did you have to port it out to clean it up?

EDIT 2: Here's what it should look like.

I totally trust your opinion on quality, your Z is amazing. I am glad you made it to DNI this year.

the overall dimensions are identical to the greddy/greddy knockoff (ssac, xspower) one it looks like. most likely the manifold will bolt on with the wastegate flange sitting a few centimeters from the steering column.

you'll either need to drastically shorten the wastegate runners and merge them earlier to squeeze a w/g on before the column, or lengthen the wastegate flange portion out to dodge the column.

hopefully someone will send me a picture on one in a 240, before they cut the runners to duel wastegate it. You all live in the land of 100$ wastegates, we live in the land of 1000$ wastegates. So duel wastegating something is crazy prices.
