The number of people who post on this thread that want to keep it a secret will never compair to the amount of people who would want to read about the swap. Even if the article was badly written 99% of the readers would never even know. Oh and yes I would like to have the only 240 with the RB25 but I am not. I am just glad I have The RB every time I drive my 240.

EXACTLY! They WILL do it, so might as well contribute and help improve the quality of the article rather than b**** and moan about it. Yes, we all want to be the first to do something and the only one, but that just isn't how this world usually works.

ok i'll start. Civic cross member mated with a skyline rubber fuel hose, next duct tape the insulator fuse with the intro dread rock, tighten the oakenfold with the matrix, then reloaded the dry manifold with the crevice canada dry, then tighten the caffine free subway, then fresh the eat with the dell, next 19" the silicon turbo trinitron with the all access, then to-night the holly with the canon, bjc the jet in the H socket. Welp that's about it... if i left anything out lemme know :D

i think that most of the people that come here looking for info are not ricers rather somone that is looking for a nice fast car without the big wing and all this crap and if you do an artical then i think that we will have way way way more ricers here asking all kinds of retarded questions like "can we bore it out to 8 cyl's" and "im gonna put nos in it and run 7's" and i personally dont wanna hear that every day

Because you forgot what kind of rag it is... SCC= ricer mag. As long as you TyPe LiKe ThIS, and say, YO ItS MaD TyTe DaWg!, then you are in tune with their subscribers.:rolleyes

SCC is NOT a ricer mag... Super Street is a ricer mag. SCC is the most technical of all the import/compact mags out there. Don't bash a good thing

Agreed, I happen to enjoy reading SCC. Articles are more technical than most folks out there. The minute you put something in writing, everyone can tear it apart, digest it, and then either get inspired to build there own or sit back and criticize it. Either way it helps lots of folks some idea of how to do a project.

My first “race vehicle” was a turbocharged SUBARU… big deal, well that was 1978… with a 1300cc motor. Admitted someone else built it, drove it for a few years, and I got it as a “project”. Sheesh… just realized that was over 25 years ago! Hmm…. Maybe I should ditch the 240SX RB20DET and just buy a WRX… If someone showed up on my doorstep with $3000 I'd let them take home a RB20DET front clip (automatic) & '92 240SX. Odds are I'll get lots of "promises"... but show me the money (just too many projects).

Humor... local (Austin, TX) dealer didn't have enough Mini's in stock. Coworker bought one here in NY yesterday... offered to drive it home for him. :)

that import racer is a total ricer magazinethey featured a "700hp wrx" a while ago..the dude sold the wrx on ebay, said it only had 250hp, it was mostly show stuffand he scanned and posted a pic of the cover of the magazine and edited out the "700hp wrx" title :rolleyes

I can't believe all of this crap I just read. I get both magazines. Who cares if there is rice in them. Buying a magazine does not require you to read cover to cover. Just skip over the crap you don't wanna read. Works great for me. Also it doesn't matter how publicised the rb swap gets, the same cool people will be doing it and the ricers will not be because of cost. Its cheaper to buy an I/H/E and go on. You can tell an enthusiast by how much time, and cost that he or she puts in their car. So in the end the same people will be doing it but with more commercial support. Look at SR's? More support than ever, but still none to common.

Are you talking about the black one???? It specifically said something like "okay, so it's not the cover car" and they had the "Easy Street" 10 second red one w/ a small wright up on it.

Sorry to double post but I just remembered, I know many of you probably don't check the main NICO page, I hardly ever do... but the guy who started this post from SCC is sponsored by NICO now he races a sentra I think. So maybe some of you should rethink your F OFF!! approach since he is obviously a part of this community.

bryson: good call, sometimes i think we're too quick to bash people here. We automatically equate ricers with hondas. I've worked on plenty of hondas and that coment really irks me. Dave started this thread with good intentions, and then we run him out of town quicker than the vancouver canucks run their goalies outta here. Guilt by association = asstacular.

this isn't really a big deal...the rb swap is old news...unstable did it almost 2 years ago..not to be a arse.. but how many people actually have a rb?

i think i've counted maybe 5 ,and most of them are 25's...everyone needs to chill and not flame so fast.freedom of info act remember that?

look at the sr parts support now a days. i would still have one ,but i don't care for sr's. i was so happy to get one a long time ago, and when i did, i realized i didn't like alot of things about the motor.

now that i know some things about rb's i'm glad i have one.if i had known how much i would end up dissliking sr's i would have got a rb 2 years ago. i talked to unstable a couple weeks after they completed it.

but all i was thinking was sr sr sr...the info i seeked wasn't really out there for me. oh well lesson learned.

so be nice ,were all here to help each other....thats what the forum is for....and no i'm not new to rb's..i have had a major part in doing about 5-6 rb swaps....the only thing i haven't done is wiring....

OMG! This post was great! I just found it and had to bring it back from the dead...lol.

Even though everyone went off topic and didn't help Dave much, they still had the article, and just as Kamin predicted in his first post, everyone went nuts when the article came out.!

LOL, I just found this to be kinda funny that it all actually happened as everyone predicted.

Probably wasn't even dave. Probably some joker trying to get a quick rundown of the swap for fear of being flamed for asking himself.
