So is everyone running RB's in 240s still able to use their stock RB25 ECUs? From the way i'm reading this, it looks like nobody is running stock ecu's...

If you want to run the stock computer you can.

But... when you get into modding the motor your gonna want to tune it.You can tune just a stock computer. You'll need either a Rom tuned chip, a emulator or a standalone or a piggyback.

The only thing is that the RB25 ECU is a different type of computer, so as of right now I dont think anyone can Rom tune or use an emulator to chip it.But Carl was saying that you can use a Z32 ecu and burn a chip for that to work on the RB25

no that s what everyone runs when they are stock.

Also the benefits of running a standalone ecu are not worth it if you are planning on staying stock.

Y don't you take a look at the stickies. They'll give you a lot of information.

If you don't see it there, then try to SEARCH it.

I appreciate it. Believe me I have done a fairly good amount of searching. I just cant find anywhere that clarifys the ecu side of it. Thanks for responding.

With the talk about running a 300 tt ecu I was looking around and found this http://www.zcontrol.net/downloads.asp , a program to data log and program your ecu I guess some have experimented with the ka\ sr also. Just thought I would share just in case some of you were interested. Looks promising then again this might be old new's and im letting my newbieness show

Well, I once heard a dirty, little rumor (?) that McKinney was working with JWT about running the Z32 TT ECU on the RB25, so I contacted JWT to see what their options were when tuning any of the skyline engines...

"Hi Annie, The best choice of an ECU core that JWT can upgrade to run a single turbo Skyline RB20 or RB25 series engine is the 1992-94 Maxima SE 2 cam ECU (engine for this model is VE30DE.) This ECU core has the same 6 direct fire coil control, single O2 sensor, single MAF sensor and plugs in the RB20-25 harness the same too. We can program for different combinations below in the price list.

The problem with using a Z32 ECU is that the Z32 has 2) O2 sensors and this complicates things more with this control system. I recommend using the Maxima SE ECU.

Best regards, Ben Pila (Technical and Sales Support) Jim Wolf Technology, Inc. "

RBoosted get up with me on AIM, I've been talking to Carl about this but the more knowledgable input the better!

If someone has the time take the ECU pinout of all three and put them in a .doc file and post it up. I will when I get a chance, if no one else does.

I'm very interested in going this route as I'm sure others are!
