Ok, so the guy bought a 2006 Yamaha Majesty NEW from the dealer, $7,000 @ 22.5% interest, 'cause it was "going to save him money". I asked why he didn't get a used sportbike for significantly less, and he got REALLY indignant, and spouted off "reliability (lol that he thinks his A/T scooter is more reliable), Gas mileage (lol when you're 50+, it doesn't really matter), and warranty (lol that he's used it for $5k+ in repairs in as many years).

For reference, a 2006 Yamaha Majesty, in all its, erm..... majesty.

We kept bugging him and he got to the point where I thought he was literally gonna come across the desk at me, then finally stormed out. We also broke it down to the point that a Ninja 250 would have cost $8 more a month to operate before he got all pissy and stormed out. I then decided to break down the math on the board, factoring in purchase price of a used Yamaha R6 (with no interest, since I didn't know when interest rates changed/ how much), and he came out in the red. Pretty far in the red, actually.

He once again got all pissy and tried to defend himself, trying to make the turning point that his scooter runs regular instead of premium. (which apparently makes for a $.60 difference in price. My original calculations are mostly still intact.

After his re-calculations, factoring in a $.60 difference per gallon price, HE WAS STILL IN THE RED! :rotfl

So he got all pissy again and left for home, since our shift was over. I decided I'd redo the math, since I made a couple errors in fuel prices, and leave it for him to find next time he was in, using a vehicle of similar mileage to the R6, with an even cheaper purchase price, a '95 Hunda Civic. Either one of these replacement vehicles wouldn't get him near as much flak, but he refuses to believe us. My re-calculations:

Then he decides he needs to bury your body, and realizes he has no trunk.

I'm dyin' over here... :rotfl

EDIT: Throw a used Geo Metro in the calculations. THEN, run some numbers on hospital costs for motorcycle-related injuries. Don't forget to factor in the cost of a helmet and gear.

Who the F pays 22% on a vehicle? He got buttsechsed on a scooter. :rotfl

anything > Majesty

Those are for people that rode the short bus. The calculations prove that too.

He thinks it's the greatest idea he ever had, EVER! He talks about how much he's saving.

We broke it down, and a BRAND NEW Ninja 250 would have been roughly the same price. fuel economy, he would have spent $8 A MONTH MORE with the ninja. The guy spends $20 A WEEK in junk food from the vending machines, when we have our meals at the galley!

He wanted me to do the math originally, and got super pissed off when the math backfired in his face!

lol. Why would he settle over a childish (expensive) scooter over an actual motorcycle anyways. Who cares if its only a 250, its a bike with much more cool factor!

No mention of it whatsoever. He leans the darned thing like it's a track bike though!

My favorite quote from last night:

"How fast does it go?"
"It goes 80 no problem, but I've pushed it to 100 before"
"We're not talking about downhill, here..."

I hate these scooters. They sound like they have the wet farts and every person I have ever encountered who rides one is a complete sack of fail. Castration should a prerequisite for ownership so at least we know the genetic line will end with the current generation.

Castration is not necessary. There's no way this guy's getting laid on any terms other than prostitution.

Bahahahahaha

I just bought a 1994 Suzuki DR125SE for $200. Im going to put $150 in parts into it, then ride it till the cows come home. I bet I can get nearly 90 mpg too. How would that fair in your calculations?

Im sure a new Ninja 250 or something is just as comfortable as a scooter, minus the spreaded legs. Its not a super stiff race bike we're talking about. But I wouldn't wanna sit on an office chair on wheels anyways.

lol, I was ganna ask how fast they go, I was thinking 60 tops.

This is atleast cool
