It sounds just like a heat shield rattle, but I can't find any loose heat shields. It only happens at 2500 rpms, no matter how hard or lightly I'm hitting the gas, then goes away. It sounds likes it's coming from right underneath the engine. What else could it be? I've looked everywhere, and it's getting anoying....any input is appreciated!

Every KA around 130ishK miles seems to get it. Its the Downpipe heat shield. or it could be any of the heat shields but most likely the downpipe. its a ***** to unbolt and pull off. Have fun haha. Watch out for that insulation, its very fine.

Did you find the culprit?

From 3800ish I have this gross vibration/resonance. Pretty easily felt in the shifter and heard. : /.

Im gonna try to figure it out soon.

I cant hear it in boost. but on the highway it makes me uneasy.

No, I never found anything, and it's still annoying as hell. It sounds just like a heatshield, but every one is tightened down fully. Even when I bang on the heatshields, the don't vibrate at all. No clue, but I can easily hear mine in boost, it lasts for about 1000 rpm's, then goes away by 4k. Let me know what you find out!

I'm thinking mine is a missing bolt on the dp-turbo elbow flange, where there's supposed to be 5 bolts. I think one backed out and another is on the way out. Whatever, it's too hard to get to right now. I'll figure it out next time I take my turbo off. Stupid annoying rattles....

same here. the vibration is coming from where the driveshaft goes into the transmission. this is cause by the transmission and engine moving back and forth, mainly when letting out the gas while in gear. i had my shift cover off while driving. will i only had the nismo transmission mount and new oem engine mount, only help a bit. really need a torque damper but cant go over the t25 hotpipe.

Have you tried starting the car, have a friend rev and putting your head around the engine and undercarriage? After a while you can narrow it down.

This is for a redtop motor. I posted this awhile ago, but I figured out what the sound is. It's the timing chaine guide under the valve cover. I just revved it myself off the TB, and put my ear to different spots. Now I just have to find the time to pull the VC and take that crap out.
