Random idle problems

I have been having random idle problems. It basically sputters and died. It's really hard to describe when the problem occurs. I have replaced pretty much everything from the ignition point of view, so that's done. I thought it's my injector leak, but that's fixed.

My question is, what are some statistically common components that you would blame idle problems on, especially on s13?- Idle control valve?- O2 sensor? (does it even use close loop during idle?)

I think it detects CEL when it sputters, but then it's gone and the car runs like normal again. Does it even store such CEL in its' memory? can I retrieve it using nissan data scan? Help!!
