Idle behavior survey - help

Guys,

I am trying to understand my idle behavior. Can you please tell me the following info?

Idle rpm - stationary & neutral (typical idle rpm)Idle rpm - stationary & in gearIdle rpm - moving & neutralIdle rpm - moving & in gear (clutch in of course, otherwise it doesn't idle)

For example, here is mine:

stationary & neutral - 1000 rpmstationary & in gear - 1000 rpmmoving & neutral - 800 rpmmoving & in gear - 800 rpm

What I'm trying to understand is this, why is it that these idle speed is distinctively different, as if the ECU literally have two settings. But I want to know whether the settings is affected by neutral/in-gear, or stationary vs. moving.
