wow... with times like that, you're whip is almost as fast as Hussain's CVT, even when his car was at stock form...

does no good to have a manual if you don't know how to drive it... who's your daddy now MENDI... I'll tell you who...

THE FAILMATIC CVT IS YOUR DADDY BIATCH...lol
Hussain's car wasn't stock. A removed exhaust system isn't stock. and he is under the assumption that disconnecting his battery made his car drive faster. This is a myth by the way. just disconnecting the battery doesnt erase what the computer has learned in its memory. We tested the theory in my Auto tech course a few years back. Supposedly however, if you disconnected the battery, and held the positive and negative wires together for 30 seconds, it does clear the computer's stored memory cells.

actually, I'm reffering to his 14.2 that he ran stock... he ran the 13.9 with his exhaust off!

On a prepped track the CVT should perform better than a manual. the Manual has too much trouble getting traction right off the line if the driver sucks. on the regular street, I still see the CVT falling short, especially as the speeds start to climb higher.

tires man. tires!

hlsd definitly helped me get a good-ish time with my winter tires. with summer performance tires it would have been soo much better. I got tire spin 1st and 2nd gear almost all the way lol

Quick question to those that have the pipe installed....

Did you re-use the gasket from the old pipe or did you get a new one???

During the day, it's 115 here. When I go home from work, it's about 90. My AC is much faster at night, when the temp. is lower.

I was thinking of going august 1st for the next track day, but its going to be close to 95degrees then too.

And they say there's no global warming! BS

I used to race at Firebird in Phoenix, and 2 days after getting the G from Infiniti of Scottsdale in July we went to the track and it was 115 at 11pm on the track. the best I could pull with the G was a 15.1. HEAT KILLS

sooo i just finished installing my y-pipe. took about an hour or so was having serious trouble getting those damn nuts and bolts of but that was pretty much the hardest part. its a really simple diy just takes time to get those nuts off once they're off its about 15 minutes more or less. raced my friends' volvo c30 and i still beat him more or less by 2 car lengths at around 80 hopefully the y-pipe still has to settle in but i can definetely feel the revs climb much faster all the way to 4k

Well, how is this for proofMods were Fujita intake, RL Y-pipe, and drag radials.

I phucking hate you Sean... stick to grilling at our meets instead of posting your times with your Sedan and that freak motor of yours...

oh yeah, and just to keep repping the superiority of the CVT, I'll say that i dont believe you without an uploaded copy of your track slip like Hussain had.... if you post that, I will concede to the superiority of the manual transmission in the Altima and accept defeat... but until then

your posted times = FAIL without pics!!!

that wasn't my times. that is someone elses. I came to stillen instead of the track. I don't see my car going any faster than a 13.9-13.8 when i take my system out

if you take your system out, why would it not run faster than a 13.9-13.8?

between your intake, exhaust, and -pipe, on those light wheels you have, plus the system out... shouldn't you be running the same times as your friend?

doubtful, he lives in an area with better cooler weather. Plus, traction will be an issue. On street tires, its harder to grip than with slicks or DR. I only have the intake, Y-pipe and mufflers. the catback is basically stock. Mufflers don't add any power. Now, if the temps drop closer to 60-70, I suspect I will be at 13.7-13.8 at over 100mph. my 14.4 run was with my system in the trunk, 20" chromies and crappy street tires.

best time was a 14.72 with 96 degree weather. I seemed to be doing better and better everytime. started at 15.1 and ened at 14.72 hopefuly next time i go i'll break the 14.5. Had the 10 inch sub with its enclosure in the trunk so maybe if i took that out it would help. we'll see
