I'm pretty sure me thinking a y-pipe is steep doesn't equate to me wanting a miracle $20 turbo kit, no need for you guys to get your panties in a bunch over what I think is a good value or not. I never flat out said "zomg thats t00 much wut r ya thinkin!11". I will probably end up getting this too, but asking for something cheaper never hurts, does it? I can tell some of you really are negotiators, huh. With that said lets drop this and keep this thread clean, I'm done.. (feel free to delete the useless chatter in here if you must)
Hey man sorry, if you felt I was singling you out, sorry my post just a rant just from a few things I have seen lately. My apologies to you.

Spockrock, is the prototype installed on your car!?!

Any information you can provide?

Get vids up pronto!!

And to my previous post, I was just trying to make sense on how a y-pipe can create an additional 13WHP; it just seems a bit high if there is no additional power being created in the engine. Now if you were talking about adding a piggyback or ECU mod to a stock car, changing fuel/air ratios and creating more power in the engine and gaining 10-25WHP, I feel like that is reasonable for that mod.

However I hope the y-pipe does give off these numbers! That would be awesome!

Well, If the work is ANYTHING like the front end links then I will be all over a GB for that puppy...

BTW...your front end links are the most noticeable mod for handling I placed on my car. thanks for such a great product..

Looking forward for the Y-pipe...

I just hope its a noticeable gain, and I'm not gonna lie, I can't wait to have my car purring like a VQ should.

What exhaust would this sound best with, Nismo or Artisan? (Greddys r going for too much now and look kinda rice)

Yah man i agree with you about the Greddys.... I personally would go with the NISMO.... I love the way the exhaust looks and the sound is amazing as well...once it's broken in it sounds very smooth and deep like the 350z. plus now that its wicked cheap id definitely get it, i paid 8 something to have it back in December....Totally worth it IMP!

I bet the exhaust will sound even more mean with the addition of the y-pipe!

also will the pipe clear the ground? If it has a larger diameter and us coupes with the Eibach springs.....

No I do not have the y-pipe installed yet. The only info I can have is the shop did not take the car out for a sping before or after to check if there are any gains because its a customers car. I think they are building the pipe it will take about 3 weeks or so to build, and then put it on the car and we can find out if there are any issues with the pipe if all goes well then it goes into production.

EzeebMOS3 wrote:The price is definitely reasonable, however doesnt 15whp seem a bit much? i mean there's no more power being produced in the engine, and is our exhaust really that restrictive?

But i mean if it is true that's awesome that for under 300 your gaining 15whp... i mean thats typically what you see when getting a piggyback ecu mod....

either way im still purchasing! haha
I said almost The exhaust may not be that restrictive but the ypipe is. The stock bend are not as smooth and there is a crimped section right before the car that is very restrictive
AltiCoupeDriver wrote: I also didn't know companies sold their products by x amount of dollars per hp.
They don't, but it's a good measure of value alot of people use.

The productino version should be ready in 3 weeks time, at which point I'll do my best to get you guys sound clips and the actual dyno #'s for the coupe.

Yeah you could have both the systems together but the HP gain will be different since the exhaust is different.

Im running the Greddy TiC as well and will look into buying the Y pipe.

P.S Racingline if you need another demo car I'm in the Toronto area!

3.5 SE with lots of mods!

^^^ are you CVT or 6spd?

this will fit with all catback setups as it uses all the same connecting points as the stock unit

I'm a definate buyer on the y-pipe as soon as it's finished, but what's the word on the headers. Is Raceline working on the headers also, because if so I'm a definate buyer as soon as those are finished also.

hey guys new here, and ezeeb I was doing a bit of research on SFR and it looks like they have a headers upgrade available...unless it's for the SFR turbo....really not sure but there's a thread about it somewhere. they're offering $1099 for the headers.

Yah i saw that, seems a bit steep for me... maybe sometime next summer but by then hopefully something cheaper comes out. Plus you have to factor in the 6-800 install fee.

Yea but what about Raceline, the thread title addresses Headers and a Y Pipe, so I had the impression that they were making headers also.

Hopefully

Is there any other bolt-ons you think our cars would benefit from? btw Is a cat-back a possibility? Maybe it could be marketed with the y-pipe?

no cat back is planned for a while. There are a ton of options right now, so I'd rather compete with less saturated products for a little while. We are still pretty small in the big scheme of things.

I anticipate the production sample to be ready in 2 weeks. Assume a week to schedule dyno time and make any adjustments.

If all goes well then another 2-3 weeks until they are completed and ready for sale.

the Y pipe that is being offered should be the same length as the OEM y pipe. If the greddy exhaust you're planning to get is a cat-back system, it should work!
