This weekend I wanted to race my buddies Civic EM2 (i think his was either a 2002 or 2003 ex). It was a coupe with minor mods (i think intake, catback exhaust, header, and injectors) and I wanted to race him to see how fast they were. We started with a rolling start at maybe 25mph, 2nd gear; and he was slowly creeping away, but i missed 3rd (you can tell i dont race much lol). Then we tried again... rolling 45.. we were side by side...

From dig, our cars were pretty much neck and neck but just any minor slip up and he'd pull away...

i guess power to weight wins. I was thinking maybe i'd beat him before the race, but I guess its ok... my 240 has like 400lbs on his.. and thats not including me... lol probably close to 600lbs on him with me in the car XD

power to weight wins....

oh yeah... btw my 240 has intake and catback exhaust and its a 1990 ka24e :)

You should find somewhere else to post that stuff because all you are going to do is get flamed for that stuff on these forums. Everyone and I mean everyone on this forum thinks street racing is the dumbest thing ever. Maybe try autocross with your buddy instead and see who is actually the fastest.

Now I do not street race, nor condone street racing but it is good to know that a KAe 240 can keep up with a EM2.

Also, at least you guys tried to make it safe by doing it at 3am on an empty road (I hope) and who hasn't opened it up in these conditions before?

But people can still die even when safety attempts are made.

Nice story. The good thing is no one died and now you know the stock sohc can keep up with an EM2. However, next time, take it to the strip.

Damn, although you guys may not agree with street racing, and neither do i, give him a break. He probably just wanted to test his car out, as he said he doesn't race much.

Many people (myself included) are not going to pay money for a strip or autocross just to see how fast our car is, when we can do it on a freeway, or country road where there is obviously no one there.

I am in no way irresponsible, and I would never do anything unsafe with anyone else around, so give the guy a break, judging by the post he's like that too.

You guys can't say you've never did that before. As dumb as it sounds, what he did was "responsible" street racing (lol), at least he's not the person who's weaving in out of traffic and racing putting lives at stake.

With all due respect, stryfe.

local strips dont cost much. at least around me they dont. ive seen from 10 to 20 for a night. and depending on the track its run as many times as you can. but one by me limits you to 3 a night.
but since were talking of racing hondas i was at maple grove over the weekend with my school and i got lined up with a rsx type s and managed to beat him. lol ran a 15.7 and he ran a 16.1, i know there faster then that but the kid was talking up his type s all before the race. btw my car is a stock ka24de. fastest i ran that day was a 15.65. i should have a vid of the type s race if my friend ever up loads it.

There is always the potential for another driver to be around. Therefore, street racing is never safe. Please think about yourself and other drivers on the road. Just be safe- that is all.

well it has a cold air and a useless 3in exhaust. it puts down 140 and 144 on the dyno. so basically stock. ill post the vid once my friend puts it up. its on his camera.

i have an sr im building slowly and this exhaust is beattt hah, and as for the diff only with the launch and other aspects of road racing im sure but ask someone else on those since. there was another stock ka24de 240 there he couldnt get his under 16.9 he had an open diff and lowering springs. he either would spin cause he would try to launch at 3k like i was or he would just bog.
