Thanks for the correction Jeff.

My info was from the earlier gens. The new one is a piece of junk IMO. Fugly and slow.

The EVO has gained over 1000lbs from first gen to now. In addition to all of the "extras" they went from aluminum to steal suspension components to save money. I think this was done in the 8th gen. Not sure about the 9th and 10th.

No worries man,

I think the 2009/10 is supposed to be fast again, pretty much NO ONE bought the 08's.

If I were in the market for a track slut a 2006 EVO is very very attractive.

I raced a red older Evo at the track that ran a low 13 against me with 4 wheel tire spin off the line.

I watched the same Evo loose to a Vette. The Evo pitted came back and raced the Vette again and KILLED it.

The Evo can be scary fast with enough boose. I've heard of 30 PSI before

Yeah, the beauty of 4 bangers on boost hehehe. I still can't find the build thread on the 7th gen celics with 5th gen AWD. I think they were pushing 30-35PSI on a built 2ZZGE and getting over 450 HP.

My wife was the one who showed me the build. I think she was hinting at something for her 7th gen hehehe.

Atleast with the G you can launch hard at every red light if you want.

As for the EVO drivers, most of them don't like racing from a dig because it's extremely hard on the transmission/clutch because of the high revs needed to get a good launch. And down low is where their real advantage is.

Yeah... I was wondering what some of the other ppl were smoking.

AWD > RWD in a race from a stop, once you're going fast you can kill an evo though. Just be careful, I saw one get a blowout at 140 mph on the freeway during a race.... it was not a pretty sight.

The advantage is on take off and around corners too.

evo and sti. 2 great cars. superfast. but if I had to choose id take the evo.once u start modding both cars Evo destroys sti, even with less mods. And plus I heard Subarus belong in the mudd not asphalt. lollove them both but most impressed with Evo

but the most I love is my 03 G35 sedan... No FI and still does 13.5 on a track
