So I have been looking into a RB swap and I think I want to go with the R34 Neo but I have a few questions about differences between the Neo and Series 2 engines. When it comes to upgrades or even just OEM parts will the parts for a Series 2 motor work on a Neo? Physically what are the differences? Also what parts should I consider replacing before installing the engine into my S13?

The series 2 was used in the R33 and the Neo was used in the R34. The Neo has a different head than the R33 series 2.

incorrect

series 2 was the late R33 RB25. the Neo was r34 only and has a ton of differences between that and the S1/S2 rb25.

r34 neo makes 280hp compared to the 250hp s1/s2 rb25. I also beleive its has a drive by wire throttle body and has a cool plastic engine cover not used on the S1/S2 rb25's.
