S1 Rb25 = early R33 motor

S2 RB25 = later R33 motor

NEO RB25 = R34 Motor

The difference between the S1 and S2 is that S2's usually have less miles coming from a new r33

The 2 series motors uses different CAS, ECU, and COILS... The S2 motor does not use Igniter chip like the S1 thus using different coils as well.

Powerwise, S1 and S2 have the same power = 250hp

NEO motors have 280hp

S1 and S2 use a push type clutch transmission (like earlier R32 GTR trannies)

NEO motors use a pull type transmission like the RB26 AWD trannies (later R32 and on)

NEO motors have kick *** parts, solid lifters, better valvetrain, beefier rods, better pistons, fixed crank collar issue, etc.

Price difference...NEO's are harder to find and cost more.

Hope that helps, since its a quick over veiw

coolwhip you were 99% right

the CAS, while the case may look differently its the same internally.

my RB25 S2 lunched its CAS and it ran on a S1 and RB20 CAS.

yes, there is someone on here that does have one in a s14. I wouldn't imagine it couldn't be that much different(I could be wrong)

So is it safe to say the CAS is interchangable through all RB motors 20, 25, 26?

hey coolwhip u said before on this thread that the rb25 neo pistons are better than the regular rb25 and i was wondering are the neo pistons perfect drop in for the rb25 series 2? because the top of the piston has a different shape but its the same bore.
