Haven't been on here in a while, but thought I would share.

I would never want to make a thread like this, but I had a bit of a mishap last night.

Thankfully, I am just a little sore but otherwise fine.

It rained yesterday then stayed really damp for the evening. I went around a turn and the front end began to skid. Before I could do anything to save it, I hit grass and began sliding faster. I smashed right into that concrete pole.

Ooof. That sucks. On the bright side, add a fiberglass kit, leave the dents, add zipties and make it rwd- the 240 drift kids will love it.

I feel your pain. Mine looked just as bad after similarly skidding on grass into a guard rail...

Stay off the grass and your reflexes would've been better.

Ouch. Glad to hear you are ok. I always loved the WRB bug eye Impreza's. Sad to see one go this way, but I guess its better that than seeing it rot away, or hit by some dumb old lady.

Speaking of, if you are looking to try again. I have an 02 WRB WRX sedan sitting in my garage that needs a home. Its wingless and in near mint condition save for a dent in the passenger fender. Its got 100K on it. Shoot me an email if you are interested.

Thank you all. As far as a replacement car i haven't gotten that far just yet. Trying to get this insurance deal settled then we will go from there. I have my accesport and a few other parts from it, I just have to talk to cobb about unlocking it for me. My intake and turbo inlet are on the car still, and I can't do anything with the car until my parents return from vacation. The car is in my dad's name and they will not let me see it without him. If i miss out on the intake no big deal, I have most everything I cared about from it.

Ian, your far away from me, but let me get settled back down from all this and I may be in touch.

No, he decided day one it was time for a new car. He has owned it since new, and decided to upgrade. He now has a black 08 WRX sedan. I have the choice to either buy it from him, less my costs, or sell it and take my cut. I feel I need to sell it before I become too attached, and can never let it go.

That does suck, man, sorry to hear. I had a similar wreck also involving grass (not the smoking kind) after swerving to avoid a deer. It was the worst couple seconds of my life, having absolutely no control over the car and watching the trees get closer.

That seems fishy though. Who is not letting you see it? It sounds like they may just be trying to hold it a few extra days to rack up some storage fees. I can't imagine that they would prevent anyone your dad has authorized from seeing the car. Might take your dad making some calls if you feel like pushing the issue.

Remember, it could have been worse [/cliche]
Best of luck on everything!

Well I found out that my friend's dad has an "in" at the shop that towed my car. He got me in there today and I was able to do what I needed to do. The car was deemed totaled as I expected, hopefully this closes up soon so I can move on.

Unmarry your AccessPort! Cobb will want a fistful of money to do it for you!

Battery was dead and leaky in the car, so no dice. Cobb is unmarrying it for me for $40. I just had to provide them with a copy of the accident report... They said its normally $300 lol.
