QX50 Cargo Net

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I searched this forum and there are a couple of threads with respect to this subject. However, most links are outdated, so I thought I give it another shot.

I used to have a cargo net in my old car and would like to have one in my new QX50 as well. Has anyone found a good solution to keep things in the back from moving around?

This looks to be the only solution I found in the forums. It's discontinued though and not really what I was looking for.

If anyone uses a third party net that fits well, please let me know. Looking at the four hooks at the back of the car, I am wondering how they should used in the first place? Has anyone figured this out?

This is what we use in both our QX50 and our FX35:

I know you can buy universal cargo nets that will do the trick. Alot cheaper than buying the cargo orginizer (even though i want one too)

That looks very practical. Is there a link or name of the product you can provide?

Oh, it actually worked. Haha.

$15 is a really good price. I was expecting to see a $50 price tag.

You can find stuff like that in Target or Walmart. I have a similar one I got for $8 on sale. I also have a cargo net (as per the original post) that I salvaged from my totalled G37 sedan. It is slightly too narrow, but using a small key ring on one side to extend the fittings solved that problem.

How do you connect your cargo net from the G37? I see four connectors, two on each side, behind the tail lights. I did see the pictures where you can use those four connectors to create a cargo net 'wall' and put things inside. I just think that it's in the way 95% of the time hanging right in front of the loading area.

I am referring to the picture in this thread.

The cargo net has 4 plastic snap hooks that go on the 4 fold out rings on the sides of the cargo opening. As I mentioned I extended mine slightly by using small key rings on one side. It does look pretty much like the picture you reference, except my car is more in need of a wash. :) That is pretty much the way cargo nets work. They are less in the way in a trunk because trunks dip below the base of the opening, but on a SUV they are right there at lift level. It is easy to unsnap a side so it is less in the way until you need it. I leave mine up as it is a rather low net and rarely am I putting anything heavy or awkwardly big in the hatch, so don't find it gets in the way much. I have no idea how much Infiniti wants for them, but a G37 net does fit. I assume the sedan and coupe have the same size net, but if the coupe is slightly wider it would probably be a better match.

new owner here. I just bought one of these and put it in:

I secured it with zip ties top and bottom and it seems like it will work OK. I tried the G37 sedan one but went with this one as it is deeper and wider - and not $41 at the dealer.

Still amazed that there's not one made specifically for these cars...

I bought a net off of eBay for the G37 Coupe and it fits my EX perfectly. The Coupe, like the EX, has a rather shallow mount for the four anchor points but it serves me well when I only have a few bags to haul home.

I bought one of those cargo bag/boxes last week and it was a lot more useful that I realized it was going to be. I think I'm going to buy a few extra since they've come in very handy for groceries and such so they don't go flying/rattling around in the car. As a bonus, the one I bought has velcro on the bottom, so it helps it grip the carpet of the trunk. Although, I probably still need to strap it down when I go all Initial D on the mountain roads. :gapteeth:

My 2011 came with a fitted net. I installed it, but then stowed it with the spare. Dealership threw it in!
