Has anyone had the problem with the rear hatch on the QX4 rattling at road bumps and I know the hatch is fully closed and the window as well....could it be the rubber gasket around the frame/body of the hatch? I know there is no plastic on the "tooth" on the hatches locking member as well as no plastic on the catch on the body on the frame/body catch, any help or guidance would be great
Thanks

Are you absolutely sure it's the rear hatch?

This thread raises the possibility of other options:

Yes I do know for a fact it is the gate I have ridden in the back and pulled the gate towards the interior of the vehicle where the rattle and stopped, thank you for your comment I appreciate it :-)

Sorta sounds like the catching/receiving latch (whatever it's called) on the door may need adjusting or replacing. If it is adjustable, the FSM would have a section on it.

Can anyone tell me if a new rear door catch on the body of the vehicle has a plastic coating over the metal catch I can't seem to see that when I look up parts on the Internet I just noticed that the body catches on the side doors have plastic on them a plastic coating of sorts

The latch on my Pathfinder has it. It wears out and gets stuck inside the latch. It's then difficult to close the rear door, in addition to the rattle. This is very annoying, and lubricating the latch does not help. I tried adjusting the catch in the cargo area, but that did not help. Looks like it's time to buy a new latch.
