I just received some parts today, the new Hitachi iacv, and also a camshaft position sensor and a crankshaft position sensor. One was leaking oil the other the plastic connector part broke (combination of old plastic and working on the vehicle outside in cold temperatures). I also got new gasket kit for intake manifolds, vvt solenoid (yet another leaking point), throttle body. I tried my best to use an inspection mirror to check the water control valve tube for the leak where it meets the head. It's hard to tell. It looks like it might weep a very small amount but not enough that it would account for the dripping coolant off the bell housing. I will try the dye but I recently repaired the a/c and found the leak using dye so currently a lot of parts under the hood glow under uv light. I really wish they made different color dyes. If it is the gasket on the cools cross pipe and the vehicle being as old as it is I've wondered if I could simply cut a hole in the firewall in order to make the repair from in the cabin and then just weld a piece of sheet metal back over the hole. I know that would reduce the rigidity of the firewall but really not looking forward to dropping Trans. If I do I will also be replacing the upper oil pan gasket and rear main as I'm pretty sure I have an oil leak from one or both of those as well. Luckily we have other vehicles and I enjoy wrenching. I'll let you guys know how it runs with the new iacv.
One other question, if tge bad iacv took out the driver on the ecm, will a damaged ecm destroy a new iacv? As always thanks for all the help.

The short answer to that is, no. The ECM driver is a bipolar stepper IC, so the worst a bad one can do is lock the motor in one spot by constantly powering one phase. A shorted stepper motor or shorted wiring can hurt a healthy IC, but a bad IC can't hurt a healthy stepper.

Update on my list if issues
Purchased a new iacv (Hitachi) and a new TPS (Hitachi) idle still bouncing. I then download nisscan 2 on pc and connected it via obd2 port, it's a very nice little tool to have. I ran the relearn feature and it improved the idle but definitely did not solve it. At this point I am definitely thinking the ecm is shot. I found a computer repair company locally that can replace the mosfet located on the lc17 on the ecm board but having a problem finding a NEC 1560h mosfet chip that I can get relatively quickly (all from China 2-3weeks) so I've decided to send ecm off to a company that's does a lot of car ecm repairs. The turn around will be much quicker. I'll post another update after I get it back and installed.

Ok, I figured I would post end results for all this. I ended up replacing the IACV (Hitachi) and the throttle position sensor (Hitachi). I had to replace the mosfet chip on the ecm that is the driver for the fuel Injection. It is located on lc17 spot on the ecm, mine was a NEC 1560n mosfet and after researching for days I also learned that some vehicles used a different chip though the specs of the mosfet are very similar. After doing all this i download the nisscan 2 on my laptop and used it yp perform the idle relearn function. Now the vehicle is running perfectly and idling right in the 745-755 range. Also during this adventure I heated the bank 2 catalytic converter to cherry red. This occurred only for a few seconds as I was idling in my driveway. It turned out to be a bad connection on the #4 ignition coil wiring harness resulting in fuel being pumped into the cat and ignited. Oddly before all of this I had always had a po420 and p0430 code since the day I purchased the pathfinder 5 years ago. Now thr code is gone and has yet to return. Bad news is i hear a slight rattling in exhaust somewhere after the cat and before the muffler. Im hoping it's a rusted/broken heat sheild or clamp but I doubt it. It is probably pieces of cat honeycomb. My next project now is running a completely new exhaust since every part of the current one is looking very rough. Thank you everyone for all your guys help.
