I guess so, now it's up to the viewer to believe it....I do :) but I'm known to be gullible.

Hey guys, first off 38 pages since this thread started, wow lots of people have an opinion on this lol. Anyway i just got my 240sx like maybe a moth ago, the only reason i got it was i was driving a 95 mitsu montero befor that, and let me tell you that thing is a beast. Any way i love my car its hte best thing ive ever bought, i got it off a dealer shiup lot. Anyway i didnt jump for this car cause ive heard abotu itm in fact i wasnt even lookign for it, i was lookign for a celica gt or a RX-7. After may hours of looing at dealerships and papers and not finding anything but a 90 celica gt that when we took on a test drive it over heated missed in one cylinender and what just flat out ****y, i brook down and went to a honda dealership. When i got there i said (in my dissmay and lost hopes of finding a good gt or rz-7) where are you 2 door civics and what not. Well when i got back to where they were low and behold BAM there was the 240. Not only did she look beautiful but she was a way better deal then any of thee hondas. i got her for $4000 and i least here and she had no problems and only 80K miles on her. Plus she was im better condition then any of their used civics for the price i was willing to pay. Anyway to make this story shot i got her and love her to death, i dotn plan to rice her out but i have put better exshaust and a cai, i do plan to lower her and what not but by no means will she be a ricer, and the exshaust i put on is a very deep sound even when on the throtel its not high pitched at all. But as for band wagoning i bought her for pure looks and for that fact it was a great deal. Plus they are great cars(found that out from this site) and alot of fun to own. Any ways sry for being long winded but i love my car. :). take it easy all and have a great day.~Jon

J-Spec Tuner, sorry bout the cheap shot I took at ya earlier. It's been in the back of my head for the little bit I was working on my paper and I feel bad bout it.

gtune4 I see you have kept your word about changing your sig but seriously, if you're doing research at a university, shouldn't your maturity also be up there? Checking through this thread, all you've really been doing is insulting people. Although I do have to agree with you that taking a 90 degree turn at 90mph does sound a bit far fetched (assuming that it was a city corner).

projectorb240sx, that's cool that you've been through some of that stuff as there's no better teacher than experience. Just that I gotta say that I hope those experiences have taken place on a track instead of on the street where then you truly become a bastard for potenitally risking the lives of others.

oh man that guy in the jag gets a piece of cake for not losing the bouquet! Although he probably had something to hold it on, but still! Yeah man pretty badass.

You want to see some American cars drift? Go check out some of the drivers training that law enforcement have to go through. Secret Service has to make the president's car be able to do a 180 and speed away in the opposite direction along some other crazy stuff that they have to learn to become a driver (saw that on discovery channel). Pretty impressive stuff, and I guess it's something that you shouldn't knock until you've tried it (although I'm guessing some of you have).

I didn't know much about 240sx's till I saw Initial D at a friend's house. Before I saw that anime, I was hooked on Supras(Before F & F). Due to the incredible cost of a Mark IV TT supra though, I've had to look at less expensive alternatives. The 240sx is the best alternative I could find that was within financial grasp. I since bought a 90' Hatch and have been replacing things here and there, planning for either a CA18 or RB25 swap. However I have been toying with doing a KA24 turbo to it.

Then again, I saw a really sweet S14 and have been toying with upgrading to the newer model.

Ahhhh the choices.. :( I love 240's but which ones do I love the most?

And I admit when I saw Initial D, I did decide I wanted to learn how to drift. Both for the fun factor, and to be able to have so much control over my car..

ALL MY RACING ACCIDENTS HAPPEND ON THE TRACK, TWO OF MY ACCIDENTS HAPPEND ON CLOSED STREETS. I'LL NEVER PUT SOMEONE ELSES LIFE ON THE LINE, ITS NOT WORTH IT. I DON'T CARE IF YOU CALL ME A DUMBASS, ITS MY GOAL IN LIFE! ANYWAY YEAH I DON'T STREET RACE EXCEPT FOR THE OCCASIONAL HONDA ODDESSY ON THOSE FREQUENT "I THINK MY CAR IS FAST" RACERS ***-WHOOPIN'..... I Also got my 240 because i liked nissans after owning a sentra nissans were my love and pride. But around here i dont know how popular they are.. not too meny people own S13 240sxs and even fewer people own S14s......... But i did just read an import tuner, I think it was... and they had a S13 on the front cover all duked out.. I mean LOADED..But alot of people around here have a Honda 1.5 with a body kit and think they're all bad *** i see it too often.. Sometimes before i goto bed i cry a little at the fact that my home town is a bunch of meat rockets in 1.5 L hondas... but then i thank god that i have a brain..

Well, I decided to buy (and Im still saving/searching for one) a 240sx before I even knew it was RWD or that everyone was scrambling to get one.

All I knew (after totalling my car HERE ) is that I wanted something different than a civic/integra. Personally Im tired of seeing civics everywhere I turn. I asked someone and they mentioned a 240sx, so I looked into it, and I liked what I saw.

I dont want the car to drift, autox, or anything like that. I just want a fun, strong enough car to lightly mod. I wanted something that I could get under 3k.

Where I live (suburbs of Atlanta, GA), I NEVER see 240's fixed up, only stock, the only one Ive seen even remotly modded, had a universal muffler on it.

Thats why I want one...

The dark purple Sileighty in that article (damn, that's an old article!) is a re-panelled 180SX that belongs to these guys in South Australia.

The real Sileighty only ever had kouki tail lights, just like the white one. The tail, sideskirts and wheels are standard 180SX Type-X parts, and the headlights and front bumper are early Silvia parts, I think...

Man i didnt even know 240s were becoming popular until i read all this sh**. Really makes me not want to get one but then again i dont really give if theyre popular as long as they dont become too damn expensive for me to get one(limited income). The reason i want on is b/c ive heard so much on how theyre great cars, can handle really well (modified), are rwd and are in my price range. End of story for me really.

Bought my 91 240SX LE 5spd brand new back in late 90 or early 91. Loved it then and even more now. I sold it in 96 or so, tracked it down through three states and a few old owners and bought it back in 02 !!!! In the process of renovating/restoring it now.
