Ok let me just start off by saying that I know this is going to sound really stupid and I wouldn't neccessarily do it but I'm just curious. I know that you can adjust the amount of boost that you can run when you have a turbo/supercharged engine. I also know that too much boost will lead to the destruction of an engine no matter how heavily built it is (never heard of anyone running more than 30lbs of boost). Here's what I'm curious about, just how low can you go with the boost? Most stock setups run around 8 or 9lbs of boost, so what if you were to turn it down to say 3 or even 1lb of boost? Would the engine stall out from running to rich or would nothing happen at all? I know that if you have a turbocharged engine you need to have more fuel fed into the engine to compensate for the increased amount of air coming in from the turbo, and if you have to little fuel you'll run too lean for the engine to run right and this will damage your engine. So what happens if you drop your boost pressure to 2 or 3 lbs of boost? and what if you set the boost to 0? Will the turbo spool up, will the engine just stall or will it perform like it's not even force inducted?

I don't know much about forced induction, but 0 boost is normally aspirated. Not sure how you can control a turbo to do essentially nothing, but boost is just a measure of air over what you get without it. No reason you couldn't get 0 boost with a turbo, or 3 psi, but they would be hard to market. You have a MAF that measures the quantity of air, regardless of how it is sucked or pushed into the engine. Good fuel management is controlling the injectors' pressure and opening time to supply the right amount of fuel, with input from the MAF and from the O2s, as well as other things (temp, TPS, etc).

hahahahha

30PSI is nothing,

The Dauhlberg golf is in the 50 PSI range, and if youve ever heard of the 1000HP all wheel drive Pikes peak hill climb celica, Its running 80 PSI
