where did u get the new bushings at? Also, when u changed them you literally used a press machine? wow! i like that you didn't have to drill out the hole. i Dig it buddy! how does it hold up to all the accessories your running?

The bolt from a fwd SR20 alt is the perfect length after you drill out the bushing on the Quest alt.

I would think that all the sr20 alt bolts would be the same length but, the one I used was for a high port head engine out of a 91-93 SE-R.

I just popped the bushing out of the RB alternator and hammered it into the Quest alternator. I didn't use a press because I don't have one. But a bolt, hammer, and a hard flat surface did the trick.

As far as the new alternator bolt goes, I used a piece of all-thread that matches the weird nut with the flap welded to it to keep it from spinning on the back side of the alternator. Cut the all-thread to the length needed. On one end of the all-thread, I loc-tited a nut and let it setup. Once it was solid, I went back and tightened it down and it has worked perfectly ever since.

I'd order the nut too. It's got the nylon inside it so it doesn't back off.

Are the alternators the same between the 20 & 25? I want to upgrade cause my fans are sucking all my juice and I dont have a welder on hand for the Quest alt(just want to bolt on a J30 one).

Thread Revival (because it has the most discussion about this upgrade)

I got one out of... 1993- 1998 Nissan Quest with 3.0 liter, Six Cylinder1995- 1998 Mercury Villager , 3.0 Liter, Six cylinder

^^--- I have a Series 1 RB25I used custom Spacers on the blockShaved a portion of the block downHad to get a slightly "thinner" mounting bolt Alt > BlockFabricated a Bracket that utilized the stock alternator bracket, and tensionerThe bracket allows Tensioner adjustment, and manual adjustmentI used a 36" (approx) belt

Here are pics of the bracket, install, and of course it was tested and works fine, belt tollerance is good with plenty of room for adjustment

Cleaning my welds on the bracket

The bracket

And Mounted

Dont mind my car, I am in the process of a wiring tuck hence why it looks so empty, because, well it is...

Heres my build site if you want to see other stuff.... To note as of this posting I have not updated pictures of the last week / two of work. IE this alternator work, and other stuff.http://www.tougenw.com/zombi3.html
