I'm a sad, sad HITMAN.

Came out this morning to find my beloved girl heavily spattered from stem to stern with what looks like a half-gallon of black automotive paint.

From the looks of it, someone opened my garage window and tossed the paint onto the car. Container is gone, no prints on the window, and no real evidence... :(

I'm praying the factory paint can be saved. I really don't want a complete repaint.

Hope there's a process to clean it off somehow, but I'm even more concerned because I just stripped all the wax off and "clay-bar'ed" the surface in preparation for the Zaino... No protection on the paint at all.

My Quella looks like a dalmatian puppy... :(

NOOOOOOOOO Oh Hitman that SUCKS!!!! At least Quella is the hottest looking dalmation you have ever seen, right? I sure hope you can save the paint, I really do. Good luck man. I know whatever you do, Quella will still end up looking as hot as ever.

Just when you think society isn't as bad as you think it is, some bottom feeding low brow (got beat by the Q) loser has to try and make themselves feel better by tearing up what you've worked so hard to have and take care of.

So, the list of suspects has to include all the punks you've toasted. That's gonna be a long list. Kind of reminds me of the end of the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".

Thanks for the support guys.

Actually, I've got a pretty good idea of what happened. I have a neighbor whose live-in girlfriend is a snaggletooth tweaker (and he's a fat, pot-smoking bum sitting at home on "disability":rolleyes). She got picked up on a warrant two days ago for a probation violation, and he got cited for possession....

They know I'm employed by "THE MAN", and I'm the Block Watch president, so in their moronic, irresponsible way of thinking, every stupid choice in life that THEY make is somehow MY fault.

What the hell ever happened to dignity and integrity? :(

and since they are your neighbors they know how much you love Quella...sounds like a good excuse to use the ol' valve core puller on them every night for a week :D No damage...just a HUGE pain the butt!

Maybe making up some flyers and passing them out, they could include some wondering aloud who it might have been.

Someone may take care of them.

Fred...:)

Edit: I'm stupid and did'nt realize they threw it through your garage window...wow, thats bold. You could rummage through their trash and see if you find the paint can!

LOL - Believe it or not, I did that this morning. I didn't care who saw me or if the owners came out or what.

I think I like Fred's flyer idea. "REWARD - For info leading to the ID of the spineless douchebag who attacked a defenseless car instead of its more-than-capable owner."

on the other hand... Insurance should cover it... and you won't end up paying as long as you have uninsured motorist coverage... and that way you can get a nice brand new paint job done!

Don't want new paint. Once you repaint a car, the value takes a crap. Even a "real good" job will never be as thorough as the factory work.

My deductible is $500, money that I don't have right now. Grrr. :(

I'm heading to the reapir estimator right now - He's making an emergency appointment for me. Also, I'll take a few pics.

Now, Hitman, be aware of high end paint shops. Last time I checked, you are responsible for where the car goes for paint...meaning that even if the insurance guy has a list of shops to go to, these shops are usually the bottom feeding shops, who generally do the cheapest work...convenient, that way the insurance company keeps more of your money... when all is said & done, it's still your choice where the car goes for paint, so I hope you know a good paint guy...

When we learn who did this.... I've got a rope and a tree, just bring them to me.

If I lived in AZ you could e-mail me off forum and I'd make sure something got done about your situation ;) Good call searching the trash too :) Your probably right about who did it, they obviously have it in for you! At least they didnt throw a rock through your kids window or something...good luck getting Quella fixed back up! I'm still all for the valve core puller too :D Those things are so wonderful for causing people a lot of hassle.

Oh yeah - It's ON.

"Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?" :firedevil

I just got back from the shop.

Good news - It can be removed, the dumbarse used car enamel with no catalyst, so it wouldn't have dried for days.

Bad news - It reacted with the rubber trim, and some of the stainless trim, which has to be R&R'ed. Total after removing the black spots, colorsanding, buffing, and polishing: $525. Insurance company pays $25, yours truly gets to max out the Discover card.

$500 won't even begin to pay this poor bastard's ER bill. :beatfreak

:rotflmao:rotflmao:rotflmaoI don't know why, but that line, along with the :beatfreak struck me as incredibly funny.

Glad the paint is coming off, especially after all the work you put into it. To have it ruined like that (snaps his fingers) would suck. Hardcore.

Sorry to hear about this!!!

I share your pain, although what happened to us does not compare to the visibility of the damage to your car! A few months ago, some a$$hole walked down the passenger side of my wife's car. With a key or other sharp object in hand. Deep gouge along the whole length of the car - down to bare metal in some places.

This is a low-mileage (35k miles) 1997 Acura 2.2CL in perfect running condition and its value effectively dropped a thousand dollars that day. Just when we are planning to sell it to get her a G35. Argh!

Hope you get yours fixed soon and can somehow also find and take "care" of the sob's who messed with it!
