Would you have the lighting info (bulb type?) for the ashtray in a 1993 Q45? I know it's a nit, but would like to get the bulb before I remove the ashtray to replace it. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I understand the guide but with the bright lights I heard that some can burn out your harness. Is this statement true? And if it is true what corrections to a 1990 Q45 l/h beam need to be made. Are there converter kits out there?

Anybody have any info on what type of bulbs are used in illuminating the window switches and power seat panels and where I can get them? They're tiny little things that look like they should be used in a toy train or something.

These will work for you. Some of the bulb assemblies are available from the stealership (the trip odometer @ about $5/ea) but for the most part they expect you to buy the whole component to get the new bulb (cruise control switch).

At about $1.29 for two bulbs this is a much better choice. Do a search using micro lamp or micro bulb as keywords to find more discussion on these but replacement is very easy.

Anyone have a part number for the center consol power window switch bulbs? Are they the same as the door window switches? My local dealership couldn't find this - was not referenced in their parts database.

I still can't figure out how to get my glove box light bulb out without breaking it in my 91. Anyone run across a part number for that one? I've had zero luck...Jack

Call up Scottdale Infiniti Parts they have the blubs for the consol, they also work on the dash and the radio. I bought 22 of them.

This is incorrect and I have written Sylvania about this datum.

It is a D2R since it is a reflector design and not a projector beam.

Good. In the FSM is specified D2R.

I know because I just replaced my wife's. Not fun.

H 3 Silverstar fog lights are better than the stock but not close to HID. I replaced them on my ride and I noticed the difference as soon as I turned the switch.

So are all the bulbs in the speedo cluster 194? Any different ones?

Also, what about the clock, window switches, climate control, and gearshift?

And, did anyone get and HID system in their car, does it work well?

Thanks

I believe so, yes.It won't hurt to take one out, and take it to a shop if you are still unsure

I'm not sure about the gearshift but the others use this micro lamp. You won't be able to get them from the stealership without buying the component.

There's actually 4 or 5 different bulbs on the speedo cluster and they're all available from the stealership individually. The trip odometer bulbs use the same ones as in the pic. They're $10-$11/ea purchased from Infiniti. If you can find the correct drawing in Nissan FAST all the bulb P/N's for the cluster are listed.

I got very poor life from silverstar headlamps, and yes I know not to touch the crystal during installation.

One died after 12 months, the other died a few months later, then I reinstalled the originals that I had replaced.

I've gotten poor life from them as well, usually under a year per lamp, even with careful gloved installation (I've done theatrical lighting; my lamp-handling habits are meticulous). It's worth nothing that I've had far better luck with Silverstar Ultra than with standard Silverstars.

Is there a kit for HID lights for the 90-93 and a upgradeable harness?

To install bulbs, are just regular rubber gloves needed, or special gloves? Sorry for the newb question, I have done heaps of mechanical stuff in the past, but have never changed a bulb in any of my cars!! :S

You don't necessarily need gloves, but it helps avoid touching the glass. Since lamps get so hot, any oil on the glass (from being touched) can cause it to heat unevenly which can reduce longevity.

Rubber gloves are fine. I use a pair of those cheap knit gloves:

As long as you can install the lamp without touching the glass of the tube, you're fine, gloves or not. I'm probably one of the only people who bothers with gloves.

You should see what happens to a 750watt Source 4 lamp that has been touched. You get nasty glass "growths" where the glass overheats quickly.

.The regular Silverstar bulbs are horrible! I wouldn't dare pay for the Silverstar Ultra because it's basically the same bulb with the issues fixed that was nagging the original Silverstars. Except you are paying an ULTRA price. I've been happy with the XtraVisions.

Ah ok, I see. Well I will just get some kind of cheap glove as well. Better to be safe than sorry!! Haha a bulb with "growths" would definately be interesting to see!!

I have a quick question in regards to bulbs.

I am in Australia and from my research so far haven't been able to find a "1157A" and was wondering if there is a different bulb that will work. I need it for the park lamp for my 94 Q45. I found Silverstar ones on a US site, but the light up amber which is no good for park lights.

Thanks in advance.
