Indeed. Oil changes are so darn cheap that its not worth getting dirty. $32 at Wal-Mart for Mobil 1. I bring my own filter from the dealer.

Ditto - Best deal in town.

You can't buy 6 quarts of Mobil 1 for that price.

I've shortened my interval to 3K miles since I found Mr Walton's SMOKING oil change deals.

$23 for 6 qts at Costco. But it's worth $9 to have someone else do it, as long as they don't take any shortcuts, like leaving the lower cover off, or pinning it with fewer than the 10 stock screws and/or by using sheet metal screws instead because they threw the metric screws in the hardware bin.

Hi, AZhitman.

Did you resolve your problem with that one place that left off the lower engine shield? Daedalus has a good point!

I did not - They continue to deny that I showed up with one intact.

It was a Mobil station, and they charged me $60, the bastards.

I'll continue to go to WalMart from here on out. I can stand there and watch the work, they're VERY respectful of the Q (probably because they don't see many "non-pedestrian" vehicles). All the guys in the shop were drooling over her - That's a good sign.

Where on earth did you find that? Were the caps on the bottle still sealed? The oil change goes much better from the bottom of the car - take off the road shield and you're there...

Let me look up the symbol of Advance Auto Parts to see if we can short it. They won't be around long selling Mobil 1 at $.98.

I think you just got Mobil oil - not Mobil 1. Blue containers, or silver?

With the road shield off and the car jacked up (ON JACK STANDS!!!so you're not a candidate for the next round of Darwin Awards) you can reach the filter and fish it out in front. As long as it's not overtightened you should be able to get it off by hand. Otherwise you need a filter wrench.

DON'T try to go in from the top - the MAF connector isn't designed to be unplugged every 90 days, and you need that time under the car to check for leaks, rack boots, etc.

The filter is right above the power steering pump on the driver's side of the car. I can see it easier from above, but it's easier to remove from below. Hope you don't drain the oil with the car on the ramps...you won't get enough of the old oil out, unless you jack up the rear to keep the car level.

If your small enough, I think you could reach the drain plug with some extensions without jacking up the car....... I dont think id have a problem with it.........

I can slide enough of my arm and shoulder under the car and reach the plug without too much trouble, but then I have to raise one corner to get to the filter after the oil's been drained.

And, with that one corner raised , the left side, the oil pan is angled for the most drainage.

Don't forget to use a new crush washer. Something magic about them. Every time I've tried a substitute, on the engine or trans, they always leak.
