Here's the story from OCR. Hope it's OK.
Remember Adam Clarke's twin turbo RB30/RB26 Nissan-powered 240Z from Issue 43? Well, it seems that 11 -second times are not enough for this speed demon, as currently he has a new pet project under construction that should stir quite a storm when Sydney's new drag strip is finally opened. After working for other companies for around ten years Adam decided to go solo, and the 240 is the perfect way to shovvcase his fabricating talents. Having built chassis for other drag cars, including Croydon's own H22A-powered Honda Civic, Mr Damage and the performance MetalCraft R33 GT-R tarmac rally car featured in issue 58, he knew exactly how he was going to put this weapon together. Starting with a 240Z shell, a full-chrome moly tube chassis based on an American pro-stock drag car is currently taking shape. The powerplant for this wild ride will be one of Nissan's little known VH45-DE 4.5L quad-overhead-cam V8s. When asked why the Nissan V8 and not some Aussie iron or a Toyota V8 his answerwas simple: "No one has experimented with these engines and personally I think they are very underrated." Currently the engine is being rebuilt with Argo forged connecting rods and custom JE forged pistons complete with oversized wrist pins, with the crank and block treated and suitably prepared. This whole exercise would be less than interesting if it weren't for the fact that this motor is being built for a twin-turbo set-up, that when sorted should see in excess 1119kW produced. A two-speed Powerglide transmission will be transferring the grunt rearward. Adam has fabricated a four-link drag rear end, with a braced metal 9-inch housing, floating Romac hubs, 35-spline floating axles, and Strange coil-over struts. The front relies on lightweight Strange struts and brakes, four piston alloy calipers and slotted discs. With the chassis nearing completion, Adam plans to debut the car early next year. Cashing in on his expertise Adam has just finished converting Nathan Wells' 340kW naturally-aspirated VK to watts link set-up. After catching up with Nathan at an Oran Park track day he was more than impressed, especiallyas the VK was passing Ferraris and WRXs through corners, not just down the straight.
