That just might be the coolest thing ever. You've got me wanting to figure out how to get a manual trans in my Q.

Man you inspire me. You'll be the first I've seen to get a manual transmission into a Q45. What transmission is that and what car did it originate from? Same question for the engine... what Nissan did it come from? Any ideas on mating a manual to the VH45?

i dont think im the first get get a manual transmission in a Q45, but i know theirs a place out their that makes a adapter plate to mate the Z32 transmission to the VH. im using an BR25det transmission/and engine. the engine came from a 4 door R33 skyline.

I should rephrase my previous statement as it was typed hastily. I'm aware that a manual can be mated to the VH45 with an adapter plate but yours is the first Q45 that I’ve seen with such a setup. A damn clean piece of artwork you pulled off there. My only complaint is that you don't take enough pics!!! (greedy for more)

I live not too far from Slim (450zxtt) who did this way back. You may have seen this already, but check out his 300zx with twin turboed VH45DE. http://www.freewebs.com/axepower/ I believe he had his adapter plate made from scratch…I haven’t talk to him in a while but his car is amazing too and one mean sounding SOB as you can hear in the video.

From looking at your pics, it seems to me that the RB25’s smaller size gives you a few more inches of play to massage in such a setup which is another advantage of using it. I know you welded and plated the sh*t out of this car. Did you stick with the original driveshaft or did you have to modify that too? Would love to see pics of the clutch setup, pedal clearance and how comfortable it is to shift. I’ve been in a few older VWs and the pedal proximity drove me nuts enough to where I’d refuse a manual in those cars.

If my JDM transmission fails on me anytime soon (installed a year ago) I might think of hooking up with Slim and morphing the old girl into a 5 or 6 speed if possible. Damn... maybe I should just beat it to death and not change the fluids…

yeah i have seen pic/videos of Slims car(badass) i talked to him about helping my with a VH45DETT set-up a while back. the pedal place ment could of been better if i went a different route to me the car is comfortable to drive b/c i have big feet and i where big shoes so i spaced the pedals out a lil bit b ut i have let a **** ton of popl drive my car and non of them said it was un comfort able or anything. most of them cant push in my clutch though thats the only responce i get( ACT 6 puck unsprung) i used a willwood pedal and M/C set up with cutcome hard line to slave cyclinder. the car over all is a blst to drive its not hard or uncomfort able jsut my clutch is a lil harsh thats about it. and the solid transmission/and engine mounts makes a lil noise.

and as far as drive shaft set up im using a custome One peice D/S

yeah thats the worst thing aobut this build is i didnt get enough pics but dont worry theirs going to be another one soon i hope..

Good to see it finished. I'll do mine later (26) after I get all the other crap finished overall. You know I was going to throw it in my Z before, but that is leaving the stable now, so time for some 4 door fun.

Oddly enough, I thought someone would do that to get the 94+ looks on the 90 MY motor transmission ... but you already went another way motor-wise .

Wow! He's sliding so hard that he, and the steering wheel, shot over to the other side of the car!

Did you encounter any difficulty swapping the front 94+ front clip to your Q?

Nope everything bolted right up. the only thing was where you bolt it to where the Door and fender meet theirs two mounting points that are not the same but it bolts up at the bottom of the pinch weld so their really no worries, the head light plugs are diffferent also but other then that its was simple and the hood latch is a lil hard to get too unless u swap over the latch and support thing from the other car but i like it the way it is b/c no one can pop my hood so its pretty sweet.
