I think it will arrive at about the same time as the new M45, if the M45 has some more horsepower, that could be an interesting comparison! if you are looking at ANY older Caddy front wheel drive, just take it from an old GM fan who owned a bunch of em'....junk, junk, junk. I discoverd Lexus in 1990 and Infiniti in 1992. Never looked back. Another interesting Caddilac story, I bumped into a buddy who had an old Alente, he told me Caddillac is offering the new XLR to any current Alente owner at exactly the same price the customer originally paid for the Alente, what a great deal! If Infiniti would do that with the Q I would run right in there and pick one up! My apologies for probably not spelling Alente correctly.
That and the forthcoming SRX look to be very interesting cars. The CTS-V should have M5 level performance for $20K less, and the SRX looks to be about as fast as the FX45, and unlike the FX, it actually has a decent amount of cargo space or a third row of seats in a package that isn't much bigger on the exterior. I'm still not wild about the Arts and Science look, but it has grown on me somewhat.
I was quite interested in the SRX until pricing was announced. Loaded V8 models will be in the mid-upper 50K range, which IMO is too much with competitors like the FX45,XC90, GX470 and MDX available for somewhat to considerably less. GM apparently thinks that people will associate a high price with a "high end" product which is wishful thinking on their part IMO. They should really have learned from Lexus and and gain market share with a high value/high quality product at a lower price, then raise prices over time. I don't think that GM fully realizes that they lost an entire generation or two of car buyers and believe that people still think of Cadillac as a top of the line car. Hopefully, GM's rise in the JD Power rankings isn't a fluke, and they really have started improving the quality of their products.
