I'm not sure about the high idle but the other symptoms could be an injector lower o-ring leaking, nicked or not seated properly. Are you having problems at start-up (flooded) or does she fire right up? There's more expertise than me out there but I think you can check the fuel pressure with a gauge installed after the fuel filter and watch if the pressure quickly bleeds to zero after the engine is turned off.

But one leaking intake runner could cause the same symptoms.

She starts up no problem at all, still running rich with a million CAS adjustments

The gaskets your talking about are gaskets on the lower intake manifold where the fuel injectors sit? Could be, didnt know that was a symptom - I will grab new ones, I thought I could have mixed one up with an older one (they all were in the same condition in my eyes). The fuel pressure instant bleed would be a side effect of this correct?

And as for the engine steam, definitly partly the coolant spill over, the other part is we couldnt get the metal EGR tube screwed all the way into the exhaust, its damn close but not quite all the way threaded - probably need a higher lift to do it. Will update on that tomorrow

Really appreciate the help goody94Q45!

I was referring to this post. Is the black smoke and rough idle due to the one leaky intake?

I guess thats possible too. I will have to reinspect everything (not a problem 1 KS seems to have failed)

Finally stabilized the idle but its high at 1,000, when you go from drive back to neutral or park it jumps to something like 2,200. Also throwing a CEL randomly. Seems to have a loose belt too now, when it rains it pours I suppose. Tomorrow I will have yet another set of gaskets to solve the leak once and for all. Actually tomorrow I might be able to get it all done and solved, what a relief that would be

Oh well I have the power back (and then some? Even with a dead KS apparently). With the idle so high, when I put it in reverse for the first time the tires did some spinning all on their own - should have seen the grin on my face
