Well, I picked up some plastic razor blades for my scraper today, so they're less likely to tear up my block, and I also picked up the head today.. He said he removed 4 thousandths... Is this a safe number to use the 1.1mm head gasket or do I need to go thicker?? He also said it looked as if something solid had gotten into my intake and bounced around in there... He had to resurface 2 of the valves. (1 intake and 1 exhaust) He mentioned possibly a pieced of a piston ring, but when Roman and I inspected the block, we didn't notice any damage on the 2 pistons at the top, and there's no damage to the other 2 cylinder walls, so the only other assumption is something that went through the intake... Either way, everything is going together this weekend. Hopefully my headgasket will seat well and everything will turn out perfect.

.004 isn't too significant, but I think it's all going to be fine. A 1.2mm headgasket would make up the difference, do they make 'em that size?

Well, I'm pretty sure the stock head gasket is 1.01 and people use the 1.1 to make up the difference for resurfacing and things of that nature.

Head and exhaust manifold are installed.

I still need to make a block off plate for the IACV delete, and I can't seem to find the JWT lube for the cams. Anyone else know what type of lube I can find at autozone that'll work? I'll keep tearing my garage apart to find it, but it'd be nice if I could just go to autozone and pick something up.

Thanks. I'll do that tomorrow. My ecu is scheduled to be here wednesday with the jwt tune on it, so hopefully I'll have everything bolted up along with the fuel pump hardwired so I can start her. I'm so excited, it's unreal.

I stayed at a local resort all last week, and then participated in an autocross Sunday, so my S13, of course, got delayed. Here are a couple pics though. I did finally get the cams in along with the cylinder head sub bolts, and also got the sexy valve cover on.

The car in it's current state. I know, I know it needs lowered and some serious body work, but it's on it's way.

Close-up to show how great of work Zach did. The coil pack cover is just spray paint.

Thanks, Zach. The thread is mostly just for documentation so I can one day say, this car started like this, and ended up like this. Everything has been done with an image in mind, of exactly how I want it to look and perform. It's just a matter of me being able to pull it off. Being in the military gives me a steady enough income that I can do pretty much whatever I want, given I'm patient enough to save up for it. I'm just thankful my wife is so understanding about how much I enjoy building this car. It seriously sat for 3 years before I even started wrenching on it.

I understand. That takes some dedication to have it sit there for so long. And it definitely helps haveing a understanding significant other.

Alright. The car runs. It has an intermittent miss... It's either the cheap ebay fuel rail not sealing well, or a spark plug is gapped wrong... I didn't check gaps so either one is pretty likely. It's 1:30 in the morning here, and I'm sure my neighbors are VERY tired of hearing my elbow only exhaust fire up, so I'm done f*** with it for the night. I'll try and finish it most likely Monday, seeing as how tomorrow is my wife's birthday and then Sunday is Mother's day.

The MAF is wired correctly now
I believe his problem is:
fuel pump or FPR... or all together
by the way I don't see the words "I want to say special thanks to Roman AKA ROMEO_RUS for helping me with project since the second day of my work on it. You have been with me all the time helping me with everything! Without you this project wouldn't be finished. You put as much work into it as I did. You actual work and bringing all you personal necessary tools were very valuable and you knowledge is conclusive... ETC...ETC.." LOL
Congrats man!!! you made it now I want to see you red rust-bucket with torque-less SR on the road kicking asses of Mustangs and Corvettes.

Rust bucket?? I've got 2 spots that need some attention... Both are cosmetic and are minor compared to what most S13s around here look like. Besides, there's a thank you to you on the first page.

LOL, I was good until I got back to base. The 20mph speed limit through housing like to freaking killed me.. I came home and immediately looked to see if I could possibly warp the stock fuel rail back to how it needs to be... There's no way. :(

Correction: I got the fuel rail straight, it wasn't as bad as it looked... I placed it on a counter and slowly pressed on it... It straighted right out, which is exactly what 240sxmotoring.com says to do about it. Now I just need to install it and start the car again...

Yeah, I have the same ISIS intake mani and I didnt have any issues with it except that the brackets for my JGY fuel rail didn't like up right. I had to make my own brackets for the fuel rail and the throttle cable, but it performs nice. A little less low end torque, but you can really feel a difference up top end. Nice build.

If you have looked at my parts, you probably realized the car is designed to be a top end monster... S4 cams and a 30 series turbo say 4000+ only... Hell the S4 cams don't really make any power until 5500 rpms

Thank you, by the way.

So I have all of these pretty parts, but my wiring harness is looking a little rough... Definitely makes my bay look sloppy. I decided to do what I've been talking to OM3GA about since before they were producing these. I ordered the S13 - S13 upper harness from wiring specialties... Pics will be posted as soon as I get it..

O.K. Here goes. The new harness came in and I installed it. I'm finally out of limp mode. Other harness had me in limp mode because I really didn't feel like tracing the wires to figure out which was which to wire up my Z32 MAF.. (The MAF extension was all done with one color.) The car is now at National Speed Inc. in Wilmington, NC where they are diagnosing my sputtering issue. (I'm pretty sure it's timing related but I'm just so tired of taking the damn valve cover off as well as trying to diagnose everything with minimal tools.) They'll also be throwing it on their dyno when everything is done, so I should have some numbers to post up and actually be able to drive it home on leave.

Here's what the motor currently has done to it.
