My sky... Sorry, Skyline body kit, throws me off some times. My 240SX is all blue ^^ With the R-33 body kit on. Anywho, it is in the sig, and I'll attach a file.

Anyways, what I want to know is this; will it look good with a black carbon firber hood, or should I get it color matched to the rest of the car?

it's your choice in the end, but

a RICER gets a CF hood to have a CF hood and leaves it the way it is

a RACER gets a CF hood for weight reduction and paints it the same color as the car

^^^just my opinion ( trust me, i'm the rice master - just call me uncle ben)

on your car, tho, i think leaving it with just the clear coat would look nice!!!

or... here's an idea,

you could like paint racing stripes down the hood the same color as the car, or paint the hood and leave stripe(s) unpainted to have CF stripe(s) on your hood

just a ricer's idea, but i dont think it would be that bad...

Ok no... if you put racing strips on a carbon fiber hood that match your car... gah... Do what you like with the carbon fiber though, it looks good alot of the time, and if I spent the cash on it, hell Id prolly keep it carbon fiber looking... Judging by it, you're going to buy a carbon fiber hood for the look of carbon fiber though, correct? I mean, you dont have an intercooler, so you probably arent really performance oriented.

why not just buy the hood, put it on, and if you dont like how it looks then get it painted?

And put something in that huge gaping hole in your bumper at the same time.

Yeah, check out BomexS13's car. Blue body, with carbon fiber hood/trunk. The contrast looks good.

if i were to get one, i think i'd leave it clear CF just because my car is black and green in the first place.

beautiful ride by the way..

Your color looks really nice and blue and CF always go together. Althought I prefer painted CF to match the color I say see what it looks like first and post here to get our opinion. I think it would cool with unpainted CF.

What's the big deal with unpainted CF? It looks good on a lot of different colors like red, white and blue --to name a few (matching CF trunk lid even better). Personal preference though, i don't think it would be bad either way.

Uh, I dunno. Most of the racers that I know of are acutely aware of how much their sport costs. They'd probably be more likely to save the $150-200 it'd cost to paint that hood and spend it on gas, tires, or track time instead.

I love carbon fiber, but at the same time I love hot paint, thats a nice shade of blue... be a shame to loose it.

hmm alltogether, paintjobs that incorporate CF visable thru the clear coat is georgous.maybe try and leave the lines of the car painted and accent the center of the carbon hood with the visable CF... I just dunno how to incorporate that into the body lines of an S14...

expiriment... come up with ideas... I personally love the blue, maybe add a visable outline of the CF, or "NISMO" on the hood abouve the headlight in just clearcoat (red CC on the "O") and paint the rest of the hood blue to match

if you're going to get a CF hood and paint it, might as well just get an FRP hood....saves you money.

Get a dry carbon hood, unglazed and paint that. Only do like 2-3 layers of paint so you can see the weave. That is the only way to do it. Anything else is just rice. (no offense BomexS13)

I'm too damn old school for my own good...

Wooo, I think that would look tight XD

And I am going to put a S-15 SR20DET into the car . . . Just got payed less then we thought we would be >.< So a little low on cash right now.

Right now it's only got bolt ons, and some jackss wielded a ghetto muffler to the cat >.< and Borla doesn't make anything for a 240SX *shakes fist* Oh well.

Quick question (sorry it's off topic) did you just buy that S14, or are/were you trying to sell it? Sorry, I just saw it posted somewhere for sale and was wondering if you were the luck buyer?

Paint also weighs a good little bit, an F1 car has around 8lbs of paint using light weigth paint, thin paint unpainted parts of the car and also the fact its significantly smaller than any of our cars i'll bet theres 10 lbs of paint on a normally painted hood and near 100lb on a full car if not more

I'm curious to know, has anybody ever thought your car was a Skyline? I don't mean like they just glance at it think its a Skyline and then relize it wasn't. I mean really truely think its a Skyline.

CF hood should look good on it. I say go for it.

And I definate agree with ArticDragon192....you need to lower that car big time. That wheel gap is HUGE.

yikes, that thing looks like it rolled out of a 1995 superstreet magazine. id say you got a lot of work to do before you start worrying about a new hood.
