My 2 cents:

What is the big difference between RB25 and RB26; besides the extra 100cc's of displacement and a dual turbo manifold on the 26?It seems to me it would be allot less time, money and effort to make huge power out of a 25. Don't they make a TT manifold for the 25? And if you’re that crazy over that extra 100cc's of displacement I know I’ve seen big boar/ stroker kits for the RB25. Also; don't turn up the boost on the ceramic stock turbo's, they can't handle it for very long. Switch to Ball Bearing.

I think you should examine more options before breaking the bank and spending years on this one. IMO.

HAHAHA....so who's gonna put that back together for you??? I know a GREAT shop that can do it! Regular price $19.95, but for you $100,000.00 LOL So you still gonna mod that transmission or bite the bullet and get the 25 transmission?

Difference is between them is like getting a reguler dell desktop and then getting like a Alianware Desktop, Both do the same thing and maybe as quick as each other but you get all type of extra goodies with the Alianware setup, and it's built better you get all the bells and whistles. smell me?

I don't think I personally would have been totally happy with just an rb25det. Now I have rb26 I have all types of options, Parts are ruffly the same amount of money, I'm getting professional help with the stock rb26 transmission, so I basicly spent 1000 more for rb26, so why not?

rb26 has stronger rods, solid lifters, and no vvt (imo better)

why does TT = more power or have an advantage?

if you build the motors they can be about the same.

Evo Bill, you need to sit down for two days and read the R32 FSM cover to cover. You need to learn the basics of these RB motors before you go any further. You can download the FSM for free, so do that first.

LOL I knew it was angel sensor but doesn't control what I thought. I have manuals, to tell you all the truth, not that I care about your hating opinions, but I'm never built or taken apart a full motor...... so I'm learning as I'm doing and going long. \btw, Thanks for the info.

....no vvt....

yes, i'm sure. check the link http://forums.racebread.com/index.php?topic=1585.0what did you honestly expect, some one-off production crank without the issue? its an r32..

time to pull the crank... rebuild time or just run it until your pump freewheels... thats what 95% of people are doing and doesnt seem to be that big of a problem..

Should I just get a new oil pump and have it welded?

the writeup link i posted has the solutions. you dont weld the oil pump, you weld the crank and it needs to be removed from the block to do that.

I was thinking the same thing.

The part of the collar which drives the oil pump looks to have normal wear. Even if you had the good collar (wider), it would still wear like that.

But the end of the snout looks really ****ed up on this motor. It kind of looks like someone jammed a screwdriver behind the oil pump seal to remove the seal.

guys i would be more worried about bearing condition than anything if the block looks like that and there is that much coked up oil residue. if anything pull the main girdle to check...there might be hidden damage.
