Alright, so this morning I started the tedious task of my tank drop, only to be disappointed. First off, my camera wouldn't work, so there will be no pictures. Not that it matters because not to many are following this build anyway, and the ones that are mostly know how to do this.
Removing the fuel pump.
First, pop the hatch. Lift up your carpet (if you have any) and on the right side of the trunk you will see a plate with 4 screw/bolts in it. Take a 10mm socket and undo all 4 bolts. Be careful not to pull to hard on the plate due to the wires running through them. There is a little plate to the right of that, that you may want to take off to make this easier. (I did) After you remove the plate you will see 4 wires or so and 2 hoses running to the front. Take a pair of plyers and and move the hose clamps further up the line, past the nipple. Take a phillips screwdriver and remove the 6 screws around the rim of the second cover. After removing the screws, carefully pull up the cover, with the fuel pump attached. Remove the clamp off line running form the top of the pump to the nipple. There are 2 rubber pieces covering the + and - connectors. Pull back the covers and again use the phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws.
Side note:This is where I ran into problems. My negative wire connector was broke off, hence making the fuel pump not work... Therefore, although I really need to clean out my tank, I'm not going to due to shortage of time.(damn work) So now I'm just going to re-tip the ends of the wires and put in the new fuel pump and be on my marry way.
Even though I'm not going to do this, I'll tell you how to drop the tank on a s13 se. There are 2 straps that hold the tank in place. Toward the front of the tank, if you follow the straps, you will find 2 17mm bolts holding on the straps. Grab a friend and have him hold up the tank while you undo the 2 bolts. The bolt closest to the driver side is a little tricky to get to, so, tough sh*t, unless you want to remove your differential. As long as you've got your friend holding the tank, ready to catch it, thats it.
I may post this into the articles section when I get pics and plan it and word it a little better.
Thanks for keeping track, if you are..
