well, this is the start of my S14 build project. im starting this thread to keep track of how far my car has come and where it will soon hopefully end up. That in mind this car is a DD, well will be. I live in Canada, so the car will be garaged for 5 months a year, that's when my truck will come out.

Ive decided to name it PO-S14 because right now, my car literally is a piece of s***. People tell me this, I don't take offense to it, I take pride in knowing that im slowly but surely bringing one more S14 back from the grave. I went over some of this stuff in my introduction thread awhile ago, but in Canada 240's aren't overly common, let alone S14's, so im pretty proud to be able to say im building one.

I'm only 17 and working part time at a mechanic shop after school so I don't have a ton of money to drop into parts, but I still plan on buying name brands, I have no issue with eBay parts, but If im going to build this car back, im going to do it right with brands that have established themselves as quality.

Anyways a bit of history on my car. I'm the third owner of this car, a guy bought it off the lot in 95, drove it until 07 when he gave it to his son who rear ended a truck back in December of 07. A Nissan salvage shop employee ended up buying the crashed car, he replaced the rad support-filled the trunk with OEM replacement parts, and quit in 08. it sat behind his shop until about a month ago when I bought it for $2500. it conveniently has 240,800 KM on the car(154K miles), its a leather LE auto fully loaded, rolling on 3 wheels, apparently one got stolen in the past so its on a spare currently.

pictures as of day one:

I have since got the bumper support in place, im holding off on the lights and bumper because im pulling the engine and auto transmission this week. The engine is seized and will be replaced shortly with an SR20 Notch Top and 5 speed transmission.

Thanks for looking so far, I hope this car turns into everything I know it can be.

I agree I may have jumped into something haha, but its too late now right? ill deal with it haha. Considering if i threw the bumper and headlights in it would be more or less a complete car. I'm pulling the engine and transmission monday so I decided not to complete the front end until the SR is in its new home.

on the plus side it came with JDM headlights lol?

Ill try to post up some more pictures after I get the pull done. Unfortunately there will be a decent wait for the SR20 and 5 speed.

Yeah it looks like a lot of what needs done is just general cleaning and re-assembly. Shouldn't take too long to put it back together and get it looking decent... that and a bath.

$2500??? I had mine for $2800 :S
It's a SE, 180k miles on chassis and 80k on engine
Vertex bodykit
no radio
17 ADR wheels
running good and no rust
No real paint
So I think you could have this car for $1500 or I'm lucky.
Anyway, you have zenki and that's a choice :D Good luck ;)

again, im not sure of your in Canada or not, but if your in the states the car's value is much lower, all cars for that matter are cheaper in the USA.

example- My boss bought a 2006 GMC 3500 Duramax diesel with 150K(KM'S) on it from Montana for 10 grand. He priced out similar trucks with similar mileage at 18-20K in Alberta. Factor in duty, tax, and boarder fee's, he paid 11.8 for a truck that would have cost him 18.

Its what we live with in Canada, almost 100% of Evo's are American cars because the cost down south is ridiculous compared to here, a G35 even has a blue book value of up to 5k less in America than Canada.

anyways, heres some shots after I cleaned up the interior. It looks like i lost the pictures of my complete interior so i guess ill post them up monday when I can get to my car again.

Well A co-worker and i stayed late tonight to pull the engine and transmission, took us about 3 and a half hours to get both out in one shot, everything went really smoothly. unfortunately rain came outta no where so I decided not to go outside to steam clean the engine bay...another day.

I also found out the entire underside of my car undercoated and more or less 100% rust free minus the wheel well, so im pretty happy about that.Enough, pictures now.

line up of cool cars in our shop, not a normal occurrence, but a Porsche boxster, 1969 Camaro Z28 with a 305, and a 1992 Chev short box with a 383-stroker with an edelbrock supercharger, that things roasts tires like no ones business.

well its probably been a month since Ive updated this- not much has happened. Im waiting on parts from Enjuku to show up hopefully mid this week.

I have however picked up a few small parts locally

JDM kouki Side skirts (painted black)
Set of 4 OEM S14 wheels/tires for $50(all to replace my 1 missing wheel)
ACT Light flywheel
Clutch assembly
Brake assembly
Shifter boots and some random OEM MaD Tyte JDM Shift Knob out of a 1992 Silvia K's from a local RHD graveyard

Expected to come this week from Ken At Enjukuracing.com :
ACT Solid Race (Heavy Duty 4-Pad) Clutch Kit
OEM Clutch Master Assembly
NISMO Slave Cylinder
Agency Power Auto to Manual Conversion Clutch Line
NISMO Clutch Fork Pivot
ISIS Short Throw Shifter V2
Peak Performance Street Transmission Bushing

Its been super handy having the JDM Wrecking yard a 10 minute drive out of town-they have numerous Skylines-180's-Silvias-Z32's among others for me to scavenge good cheap used parts from. If anyone in Southern Alberta is looking from Replacement parts Head over to 4XToys in Coalhurst mike is a really good guy and will get you the parts you need for cheap.

note the JDM Sweetness of that shift knob :naughty:

hopefully ill have a better update in a week or so when the 5 speed swap is getting put into the car- then I continue my hunt for a JDM kouki Front clip

darn only im interested haha!

Peak performance transmission bushing came in on friday, The rest of my first order should be in on Wednesday:
ACT Solid Race (Heavy Duty 4-Pad) Clutch Kit
OEM Clutch Master Assembly
NISMO Slave Cylinder
Agency Power Auto to Manual Conversion Clutch Line
NISMO Clutch Fork Pivot
ISIS Short Throw Shifter V2

Also took advantage of the Labor day sale at Enjukuracing by maxing out my credit card(could be a bad move? :gapteeth: ) ordered:
SAMCO Radiator Hose Set
APEXi Dual N1 Exhaust
Mishimoto Nissan SR20 Fan Shroud Kit
Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator for SR20DET
Circuit Sports Exhaust Hanger Bushing Kit
Walbro High-Pressure 255 ltr/hr Fuel Pump Nissan 240sx

I was going to go with a Koyo rad- but Mishimoto's lifetime no questions asked warranty reeled me in-so I decided to match the fans instead of going flex-a-lite.

Next question that i hope people can help solve is-intercooler? Right now im looking at the Blitz LM FMIC kit and the HKS Type-S kit-anyone have opinions on them? its getting close I suppose- A local importer is working on finding me a JDM kouki front clip so I can do the front end conversion and engine swap at once- Get two birds stoned at once.

Think you could do a step by step with the auto to manual conversion?

Planning on doing the same to my car as well and it'd help me A LOT!

Where you located? im in Southern Alberta,

I agree I kind of get owned on the car haha- but what can you do? I'm 17- I locked on it and bought it. lucky for me my car was only winter driven once(from spring to November) Then it was crashed and has sat since. Im fine with it. I wanted to do a good rebuild in a project, one that I can learn from and be able to completely build from the ground up. Atleast the body isnt in bad shape- one rusty wheel well but that isn't a big deal.

got confirmation from enjuku that my parts have been sent out, so hopefully the exhaust and rad will fit in my room untill the engine comes in haha.

Finally remembered to bring my skirts back from work to take pictures after a month. My Exhaust bushings also showed up by surprise today- which is a good and bad thing...Good because there here. Bad because I didn't expect them so I didn't bring my credit card to work to pay the Broker fee's. Luckily my boss bailed me out with his credit card.

and thanks for the words everyone- just gotta keep chugging along putting it together one piece at a time. And Dano- Thanks for telling me the paint haha- Ive been meaning to cross reference the paint code but kept forgetting! However the plan as it stands today is to paint the car. As i sit today the car will someday be 370Z Black Cherry

Ive been thinking about the car as a whole- and my intention the entire time has been to make it a real head turner-fast,brand name parts, good paint, just a nice street cruiser...but iv been bite by the drifting bug... I went on a ride along with a friend of a friend who has a ford 302 powered 180SX on a drift practice night...geez louise. im hooked

so I haven't decided but the S14 may go into hibernation for the winter and i may look into building an S13 as a drift wagon (just a cheap silvia/180SX/240SX) something i don't have to worry about looks in. slap in a Red top and some coilovers and go. but we will see, for now that's just a though.

first update in a long time, i got over my drift kick. so im back to the old S14.

Not too much has happened over the last month or so. Took advantage of Enjuku's black friday sale for the 15% off+50% off shipping and picked up an HKS Type-S intercooler.

HOWEVER ken has informed me that there currently are none in north America. So It would be 2 or 3 months before I got it, So Ken is sending me a GReddy R-SPL intercooler kit for what I paid for the HKS kit. not a bad deal for me, wait a few weeks extra, get an intercooler that is $400 more...

Also both the local JDM suppliers are clean outta S14 SR's, so it looks like early January before ill be able to get my hands on a motor.

Pictures to come when the intercooler is here.
