I'm using the Eibach springs on my M37X with no issues. As far as I know the only difference in the front shocks is the fork on the AWD to fit around the front drive shafts. Since the shocks are disassembled to replace the springs the Eibachs work.

Bang for your buck, get the Eibachs, unless you want to go really low. I'm considering switching mine out to coilovers but not for a while. I want to do exhaust and other stuff first. I did a full How-To on installing springs for the M37X.

Good information to know... although Eibach doesn't actually list them for the X.

Are you just on Eibach springs and stock shocks? My only reservation about doing springs is I'm afraid I won't be happy with the drop after it settles. That being said, I really like your drop (from the picture in your sig). Thats just about where I want to be. Not slammed but even wheel gap.

Yeah I'm on the stock shocks with Eibachs. The drop you see in the pics is it, pretty nice but def not slammed. Check my how-to for before and after pics.

I hope to make the same intake mod to my M37. Did you notice any difference in engine sound, performance, gas mileage?

Any feedback on performance gains from the intakes? I know there are mixed opinions about the actual benefit of this type of intake. It still looks awesome though.

The result of my research and review of dynos and info from engine experts:

Adding a CAI alone to your car without any other mods is useless. The only peeps who claim up to 30 hp gains are those who sell them, not those who bought one. On average it's less than 10hp - not even noticeable and the air temp is not affected much at all. If the CAI is part of a true uprev tune + plenum spacer, etc the gains in hp are much better - but not so much because of the CAI.

You must agree though, that they look absolutely brilliant! And the sound is also quite nice. Some peeps claim they get better throttle response but that could be subjective. For me, it still seems useless to do a CAI for the looks or the sound alone - I am the only person who sees what's under my bonnet and it isn't brilliant enough for the price you have to pay.

Since the weight of an M37x and an M56S RWD would be nearly identical...could I assume that the spring rate of Eibach's would also work well with the M56S?

I'm curious about the 20mm spacers you're running with the factory S wheels. Any problems with rubbing the fenders? I thought 20mm was pretty aggressive. Do you have any pics of the car down the sides to show the tire/fender ?

It may sound like an odd question at first......but since you're running 20x9's with a 20mm spacer......have you ever thought of running 20x10's all the way around? Maybe 20x10 with a 30 offset?

What do you guys think?

20x10 All around would look nice with a +30 offset...

Has anyone installed BC coils on an M56x, M56xS or Q70 5.6 AWD yet?

Yes, I just installed a set of BC coil overs on my 13 M56xS. Also went with the swift spring upgrade. Had them about a month so far. Very happy, and no problems.

The Swift springs are a performance upgrade over the standard springs. Here is some info on the Swift spring upgrade I posted in the Coilover Spring Rates for M56? thread.
Debonair wrote:The Swift springs offer several upgrades from the standard BC springs. Here is a list from The Best Coilover Guiide: Swift Springs. Worth it? which is a GREAT read for someone considering coilovers. If anyone is I highly suggest they check it out.

Swift Springs Summary

Common springs are made out of a silicone chrome material, because Swift Springs are stronger they can be made thinner and could be wound with fewer coils, greatly reducing weight and allowing for a larger and far more consistent stroke.
The results speak for themselves. If Swift Springs are available, they are worth the extra dollar...

YES, Swift Springs are Worth your Money.

I have to warn you about what you have probobly already noticed, especially coming from the 2GS Lexus world like me where the options are endless; there is VERY little aftermarket for the M37 and even less for the M56. As SwissCheeseHead once wrote: We're all very sad. :chuckle:
