The weight of your batteries still poses a huge threat to your gas mileage.

I am planning on doing the same on my beater. For anyone interested, here is a link for the free plans I am using. There is also some good information on the site.

You aren't getting energy from nothing, you extract hydroxy gas from water. You use Distilled water and Electrolyte. However, the process is very efficient, so the amount of Distilled water and Electrolyte is very little. Luckily both are cheap!

Best of luck to you. If this works out i will be completely shocked tho. I saw something about this a while ago and did a bunch of research on it. The conclusion I came to is that the increased load on your alternator from providing the electricity for the electralosis process is going to be more than the energy you get out of burning the hydrogen gas in your engine. And also that the amount of gas produced is simply too small to actually affect your fuel consumption in any way.

quick noobish question, if everyone in the world did this to their cars, wouldn't we run out of water... lol

You guys should google search for "Equinox: it runs on water" [minus the colon]... I believe, from the proof I've seen that water electrolysis methods, magnetic resonance engines, etc are viable means of turning wheels on a car... I have been waiting for methods like this to start leaking out as information spreads exponentially. I believe these technologies have been suppressed by many means by those who have the mosr to lose.

Drastic infastructure change is unprofitable.

ANYWAYS.... I don't mean to rant. It's just that I am very interested in alternative energies, as I am planning on living off-grid. Please follow up with your results.

This link got posted about a week ago, but I'm not sure if anybody paid attention to it. It's an SR20DET using this HHO technique.

There seems to be quite a few skeptics. I'll be glad when we finally hear a success story from somebody on our boards.

Im pretty sure it has to be a diesell enigne to run off chip oil. There is this special chemical thaT YOU PUT INTO A TUB OF IT AND IT SEPERATES IT SO YOU CAN JUST POUR IT INTO YOU FUEL TANK

i think it equals out to 40c a gallon cuz you have to buy the chemical. But you could go to most resturaunts and get it for free. They pay people to take them away so they will gladly give it to you for free

you could try filling your tires with nitrogen... it's lighter and saves gas

I used to get 500 miles on a tank with my CA18 until I went stand alone (and havn't gotten it tuned yet). Its totally possible to do, I did it for years, and it was frickin awesome. '89 s13 hatch btw.

EDIT: I should also mention I run 225/17s out front and 245/17s out back. 93 octane only, and a really light foot. I always shift at 4-4.5k for normal driving (cut me some slack, its a tiny little engine).

I actually am doing almost the same thing as the first guy, in terms of modifying the car for gas mileage. I've been researching and building prototypical generators for HHO, and i think it would be pretty cool to try gatorade. Maybe I'll quench my cars thirst while I'm at it...

The bubbler is essentially a 'flame arrestor'. It separates the bulk of the gas from any flashback (from the intake) that could ignite the hydrogen in the canister.

In theory, anyway.... The water in the bubbler is the barrier- separates the systems. Different systems use different flame arrestors, but anytime you're dealing with hydrogen - you want a flame arrestor inline. Think Hindenburg. ***I bought one of these packet things online. I kinda wish I could get my $50 back. After reading some more and applying what I know about engine management systems, I have decided not to spend the time putting one of these in...The problem I see with the HHO thing is that you are going to raise your ignition temps to what should be dangerous levels for your exhaust valves. Hydrogen burns super hot, I believe. (and if you're using less gasoline, you're forfeiting the cooling effect of the petrol). It may work, but I feel fairly confident that the gains in fuel efficiency (lean burn) are going to be negated with the cost of engine repairs later on.

If anyone does this, I would install an exhaust temp sensor before doing the switch so that you can keep an eye on the change (if any) in ignition temps. I would defintely like to hear a positive experience from somebody credible on the forum.

I hate to be a naysayer, b/c I really want this to work.
