nismodriver. you get butt-hurt too easily. the sube is nice. a car with a warranty does not make one mature tho. it just means you can whine to someone else when things break. not my cup of tea.

but then again im the immature type that likes to work on my own car. whats funny is i probably hang out with more sube owners than you do. just cus i own a 240 doesnt mean i worship it. ill admit its an oldass "sports" car. i am part of a healthy touge scene in my area, i dont care what car you drive, what matters is you are pushing your car to its limits through curves, and having a blast, not hoping that the dealer will warranty my car if an OBD check engine light comes on.

how much of your own work have you done on your sube? what wheels are those? exhaust?
I never said a warranty makes you mature, I said you were being immature based off of your comment regarding my job. I said when you grow up you'll realize it's just a car and anyone can get it and join the clique, so why not treat everyone as if they owned said car, instead of as an outsider (like honda drivers are treated )

I know what you mean though, to each their own.

So far all I have done is change out my exhaust, the first one had a hole on the seam of the muffler. Co-incidentally, my new one is eBay since a friend had it and gave it to me for like $60. I painted it flat black with rustoleum to combat any potential rust.

This week or next I'll be putting my down pipe on to go stage 2. I'm not going to risk blowing up my car by learning to tune myself haha.

keep the trend up with the new car, nice parts are never a bad investment. I too have a nice career, not just a job. i make good money, but i find myself splitting my money too far, as my funding is split between my healthily built s13 coupe, my AE86 daily, clothes, social life, and other such amenities. also, paying off college debt adds to that fun split of funds.

and on that note, thurs is payday... ordering more treats for the s13... ugh... money pits...

btw, its "extraordinaire"

wow, sounds like you bought a dud, hopefully it all works out for you man.

To the kid with the STI, did you seriously say you put an E-bay exhaust on your car?! do it some justice and put some nice parts on it for gods sake.

he knew what it was, he helped me with it, which is why he got it for so cheap. I sold him the car.

OMG! YOU'RE RIGHT! I've never heard/thought of that before!!!! Send me $895 so I can drop it on a justified HKS exhaust so I can get a justified brand stamp!!!

When will people learn? Pipe is pipe, and if "justifiable" companies bytch and moan about eBay stealing business, then why don't they lower prices?

I'm not going to clutter up Jacob's thread over useless bullshiit. It's my car. Why don't you do your car justice and drop in an SR or RB, or go KA-T? Was it because CA was cheaper? You found a deal on one or had one? Or just liked a little rev-happiness? I don't care, my point is I, personally, wouldnt put a CA in a 240. Thats just me. I don't want to drop 500+++ bills on an exhaust.

What's next to criticize? OMG not properly weighted knockoff shift knobs!!!

I had the CA and I like the rev happy little motors, pipe isnt just pipe, what gauge is the pipe, are the welds on the surface or did they actually penetrate and do what they are supposed to do?

and i like not blowing mad money on an exhaust.

you're right, there are different gauges, but so long as i dont blow the welds on the intake I should be good.

in all seriousness though, as long as it holds, which I've never heard of an eBay exhaust blowing a hole in the side.

And the welding... well is the $500+ more for good welds? I'll take a welding class and re-do them myself then.

You can never come up with a legitimate reason for avoiding eBay exhausts. Period.

although we shouldn't turn this into ebay vs. name brand thread, ebay exhausts are the best **** for the money.

is the car on stock suspension right now? i never owned my car with stock suspension, never realized how high 240s are stock. i always assumed they were rail scraping low haha.

If I remember, you didn't "blow mad money" on anything when you had this car, so don't act like you spend money on the things that matter.

Legitimate reason to avoid ebay exhaust??? Well hangers do rust and snap on some, and some hang ridiculously low.

Solution you ask? Custom exhaust by reputable shop to your own spec and the muffler of your choice, umm... roughly $300, can be done for much cheaper though if you know people.

Hopefully I reach atleast one person in here... I'll be happy.

maybe you should read what I write. I never said I blew mad money, as a matter of fact I said I never would, and with this car I have yet to have the opportunity to spend money on something that matters.

By you saying "on the things that matter", right there you're proving my point that exhaust shouldn't be avoided on eBay because, according to what you said, it doesnt matter.

Again, I would much rather pay $120-150, or in my case, $60, on an eBay exhaust and if a hanger breaks, pay the $30-50 it'll cost to weld it. Guess what! Still less than $500+.

Of course a custom exhaust is good, but again, $300 versus $120 plus $30 for the POSSIBLE broken hanger.

In no way am I saying eBay is the best, I'm just saying what 240lookis said:

I'd rather spend an extra $1 or $200 on a quality piece so I don't have problems. I like to drive my car not work on it all the time.

Fast and reliable doesn't come cheap.

my car came with an ebay exhaust and i'm not a fan. i'll put up with it for now but it doesn't fit great and the hangers are breaking. i'll weld em up for now but i wouldn't have bought it.

oh almost forgot, it sounded kinda crappy before, so i put an hks hi power muffler on it

I had an apexi exhaust on my car (my old 240), but traded to my freind for his E-bay exhaust + 450cc injectors and I hated it so much because of the terrible fitment that I bought a 5zigen exhaust and dumped the ebay junk. The best exhaust Ive ever owned to date fitment and quality wise was the RS*R catback on my S14.

Well that was quite uncalled for, I hope your new SR blows up the first day you drive it because you did'nt do it yourself and bought someone else's work, ***.
