Profile Photo and Illustration of EVERY US Nissan/Datsun/Infiniti

OK, this is a MAJOR project I am undertaking and I need your help. I've already completed this for US-spec Toyotas (inc Scion and Lexus) and now I am going to tackle Nissan cars. Basically I need a clean, high-res side-view photo of every variation of each model that Nissan has sold in the US. I'll use the photos to create a technical illustration of each car that I will be using on two different project websites:

I need a high-resolution photo that is in focus and in decent light. To get the right view, the camera needs to be FAR from the vehicle, zoomed in to fill the field of vision. If you are too close it will warp the image and it's not usable. You should be centered at the midpoint of the car, both horizontally and vertically. If the shot isn't centered (too high/low, or too far forward/back) then it isn't usable. Let's see what ya got!

No problem. I was very frustrated because I wanted to get this project going, but for now I will just post a new reply with the complete list each time and later, if/when I get the ability to clean it up, I'll do just that.

I don't blame ya for "dumbing down" the features... I forget how frustrating it can be from the other side sometimes.

Actually, it was a means to address people who get butthurt about something and delete their past posts, leaving gaps in cached info and breaking the continuity of a technical discussion (or shady sellers who edit posts to erase evidence of their shenanigans).

I've edited somewhat, just to get a feel for how it can be done.

For now, just post up the additions - We can insert those easily. No need to quote all the other stuff.

...also, I see that you split up the Roadster into two different versions. As far as I can tell the body didn't change, just the engine. Why then?

Lots to learn, young Jedi.

410 and 411 have enough differences to warrant at least recognition, but could be combined as well.

Roadster actually has had several changes since it was introduced (you could go pre-65 if you want to be thorough), but the largest difference is "high-windshield" vs. "low windshield" occurring in 68.

411 went to 67 (the one in my pic is a 67).

510 2-door is not a Coupe. It's a 2-door sedan. This is a 510 Coupe, which we never got in the US.


I don't know much, but I know Datsuns.

I am learning! That's part of the reason that I am doing this project. I just got schooled about the 510 coupe on one of the Facebook Datsun groups. I never knew! But since I'm only working on US-spec vehicles right now I'm not going to include the coupe in the list.

OK, so the roadster has two different windshields, that's enough to warrant another photo.

What are the visual differences between the 410 and 411? If it's just trim then it doesn't need a separate listing, but if there was a body change it should have another listing.

You could take the (Maxima) designation out for I30 and I35.

00-04 was an I35, not I30

Technically, 81-84 Maxima should be with the Datsuns. The 810 became the Datsun 810 Maxima in 1981, then the Datsun Maxima in 1982, then the Datsun Maxima By Nissan in 1983, and finally just the Nissan Maxima in 1984.

Also, you'll find a similar situation with the 80+ trucks.

You are right, but to be fair I thought I would be able to edit this myself as I went along. Now that you've caught up I think the most complicated part is behind us. Future updates will trickle in slower and slower as the remaining photos are harder to find.

You could take the (Maxima) designation out for I30 and I35.

00-04 was an I35, not I30

The (Maxima) note was actually just for me as I drove around trying to spot them on the street and doesn't need to be in there. This list was originally going to double as my printed notes as well.

Cool, move them around as you see fit. It's awesome to have someone helping that is more knowledgeable than I. Usually this is like putting together a puzzle when you don't have an overall idea of what it is supposed to look like, or how many pieces were in the box.

Somehow we got the wrong image for Stanza 1987-1989 so this blank entry should replace it:

The Maxima/810 should be removed from Nissan and put in Datsun. I have three versions of the 1980 Datsun lineup brochure and all of them refer to the car as a Datsun 810.

Not sure what they're referring to in that Datsun list as "Coupe 1965."

On second look, throw that list away. There's far too many errors.

The 1965 Datsun Coupe is the Silvia coupe, but the info that I found was that it was marketed as the 1500 Datsun Coupe here in the US. Is that not correct? Haha, I don't really expect to see one as I am driving around, by the way.

When I originally posted the rough list of vehicles I thought that I would be able to refine it as I got deeper into the project, so let's not pile too much criticism on to my project.
