When I originally posted the rough list of vehicles I thought that I would be able to refine it as I got deeper into the project, so let's not pile too much criticism on to my project. :)
Nope. The 65 Silvia never came to the US. Wherever you read that is woefully incorrect.

Just trying to balance my time with the end result. ;)

Roadster existed before 68, there were trucks after 61, there were 2 models of truck in the 320 range, there were trucks after 79, there were non-king-cab trucks between 73-79, they're missing a lot of Infiniti models, and even more Nissan models... I don't even know what that list is. It looks like a partial list of service manuals or something.
spinout180 wrote:So can you help me with the errors on that list so that I can get it more accurate? I can't just throw it away, it's my cheat sheet! If I throw it away I won't be able to spot the cars that I still need.
Have you perused the forums here? Call me nuts, but you're already here, and we cover most of the models on the road.

I don't want to leave you hanging, but I'd betcha a soda pop your schedule is just a tiny bit less cluttered. ;)

We'll get there - keep plugging.

That list is the vehicles that still need photos. That's for me to use as I drive around Portland, so I can spot the cars we still need to finish this project. Does that make more sense, now?

Ahhh... something I read a long time ago led me to believe that a small number were exported from Japan to the US. I see that is wrong now.

You can pull the 1965 coupe from the list. Thank you.

Not really - If you drive past a '71 pickup, you'll keep rolling... it's not on the list.

That was my only point. I'd say your post (that we keep updating) is way more accurate than that cheat sheet, now that we've been hammering on it.

I'll try to get some more folks in here to assist tomorrow, so we can fill in more pics.

It's not on the cheat sheet because the photo is already on our list. Am I missing something?

i have no contributions. i just want to know one thing. how are there so many nissans/datsuns in your area? i see a datsun like once a year. nissan/infiniti are just the "normal" ones: sentras, altimas, maximas, pathfinders, g35. and those are the later models. no first gens, no new weird q whatever models. stupid rust belt.

You answered your own question... blame the rust belt. Here on the west coast there are plenty of survivors!

Oregon has the greatest concentration of classic Datsuns in the US.

Know why? Portland. Why's that important?

That's where they arrived. :dblthumb:

I did not know that. I guess I always just assumed they entered through Long Beach since that was where early Toyotas were imported. I have been using Craigslist to search for older Datsuns and have been finding a bunch. I repeated that search in other major cities and came up with virtually nothing. Interesting.

And I think this one got lost in the shuffle. Yeah, it's a little dented up, but I can still create a good illustration from it.

Well it seems that there just isn't enough interest in this project, so I have moved it... hopefully these profiles might help others down the road.
