Problem with my Ka24de engine Please any help

Hey gentlemen, I have a big issue that I'm stuck and I don't know what else to do. Jere the deal I bought a 95 240sx and within a week the piston rod bent. Not a problem I went and got another ka24de engine with transmission. Now here the problem is that the car won't catch speed it turns on and stays on but hesitates to stay on. The have told me it could be my firing order but I really don't understand it. A 240sx friend that I have same motor and same exact car saw his firing order and it was 1,2,3,4. And my firing that actually turns on my car is 1,3,4,2 but here's the twist that order it's from the firewall to the front of the motor. I tried it the same way that he has it and it won't start. Like I said the car moves but it doesn't catch speed. And it backfires alot. Pleaseeee help thank you.

I believe the correct firing order is 1-3-4-2, i think i read it in specs let me check.. 1991-1994-240sx-specifications-and-capa ... 55910.html

Your ignition timing is most likely off. If you had the distibutor out and just stuck it back in, it is not in the right spot. I believe someone on here made a good write up on setting ignition timing. Find it, follow it.

Thank you. But even though the car turns on the way the cables are on right now. That could be way my car doesn't pick up speed right. Let me know if I'm on the right page with you guys.
