recently, my check engine light has been turning on and off frequently while driving. if i was to go to like auto zone and have them read the code, would they still be able to get a code if the check engine light is off??? im hoping that its just doin that cuz i need my oil changed. LOL.... any suggestions?? cuz the light is never on when im around an autozone.

Sounds like it my be a egr issue.Does it seem to come on when you get up around 50 ?? then go back out ?They will still be able to pull the code even if the light is out. On mine I simply cleaned out the egr Tubes that bolt up on the bottom side of the intake on both sides.

All I had to do was clean out the ends of the tubes that bolt to the bottom of the plenum.Quite easy, just dont bend the pipes out too far after getting them out of the plenum or getting them back in will be a task. After unbolting the two bolts push down on the tube until its out of the plenum. The holes that will be clogged face the rear of the engine.

thnx, now i just gotta wait till my car's cool enough to do this..... LOL

what all do i have to remove to get right to the spot i need???

On one side theres nothing in the way,On the other you need to undo the oilstick bracket.Piece-O-Cake.

alright, finally gettin some free time to do this.... thrusday of next week.... LOL...

anyways, should i remove the cover thingie on the top of the engine with the infiniti symbol??? would that allow for easier access??

Nope ..The pipes are on the sides of the engine.All you have to do is loosen the oil dipstick bracket on the passenger side.
