I'm kinda lost with what you guys are trying to explain. Are you refering to how to hook up an oil pressure gauge? If so Are you using like an autometer type gauge or a tester gauge? I'm going to drop in a twin cam in my 240 and would like to know about priming it properly.

Another way to "prime"the engine is with a Accusump from Moroso.Or even using som sort of vaccumm from the oil sender port so the oil will at least get to the oil pick up tube.

Cant tellYou need to check oil pressure either via gauge or by looking at the camshaft lobes for oil. Also, crank it with the sark plugs and fuel pump fuse removed. As other said, it helpt to fill the oil filter before (I do this everytime I change engine oil.
