Ok I have my heart set on a 240sx but everywhere i look says to swap the silvia engine in. So i was wondering from all of you who have those engines if A) any of you had it professionally done. B) How hard it is. And C) if it was done by a mechanic how much did it cost you out the door

please list for S13S14S15

i'm new to this forum and from what I see it is Awesome

Welcome to the boards!

I installed it myself, it took a while because I went to school for 10 months durring my swap, but I didnt think it was terribly hard or anything. It was my first mechanical encounter with a car so I'm sure most people who are into lego's and stuff can do it.

Im not going to list a price because i bought a bunch of extra crap not-needed for a basic swap.

Well, when you installed it, did you have to change anything or was it a kinda plug and play

well, all the motor and transmision mounts go in without and changes, and everything with the drivetrain plugs right in, but the radiator hoses need to be rerouted, if you dont get a new radiator, and wholes need to be cut for intercooler piping. Probly the most complicated bit though is the wiring, which is pretty basic, mostly just extending plugs in the engine bay and repining the ECU plug. Also a few odd parts need to be sourced, motor and transmission of course, intercooler and piping, a MAF, an Ignitor, and an uncut wiring harness and ECU that are compatible with the motor. If I missed anything feel free to add

heavythrottle also has some instructions. there is also a cd you can buy really cheap off ebay with instructions for all of your questions or email me and i will if i can find mine and if i can i will make a copy and ship it to you for 2 bucks (dollar for the cd and dollar shipping). also go to my car in my signature i did it at home with some friends. only issue is wiring, i advise (if you arent comfortable soldering) sending it off to be done (200 bucks labor to have the wiring done) then it is plug and play for the most part. radiator hoses rerouted but not a big deal. are you going front mount? if so then battery issue will arise, you can see what i did. its really not that hard. email me if you have any questions. [email protected] oh yeah i have an s13 blacktop, however redtop s13 is cheaper you can get prices from heavythrottle.com or phase2motortrend.comor some of the other places.
