power seat motor

Hi there, I am a newbie to this site and was after some advice please. I have a 57 reg pathfinder and the drivers power seat motor has about died. Just taken into local garage to be quoted £905 +vat! Apparently it comes with rails etc etc and the motor cannot be purchsed separately:-( any ideas anyone as don't fancy paying out nearly a grand?

Maybe you mean 97? There are several threads on this forum about replacing the motor and gear assembly. I did mine last year. I found the motor and gears new on ebay for around $300. That was a 2003 so search around and you should find info on your year. Hear are a couple links:

Thanks, no its a 57 reg (uk) I have now managed to find a local breakers and got one for £120+vat - very relieved I can tell you:-)
