OK, so late last year I bought leather heated power seats for my 2002 Pathy (from a junker). I took out the manual cloth seats.

The passenger (RH) seat plugged right in to the existing harnesses that were under the carpet. The power seat moves as it should (no heater yet though).

The driver's seat is a different matter. (I drove it all winter without being able to move it.)
There was a different harness (16 pin) on the driver's seat, and it won't "mate" to the existing harness (2 pin) that was there under the carpet.
I figured all I needed to do was somehow get 12 volts to the seat switches, and the power seat would work.
Unfortunately, the wiring diagram in the FSM doesn't help. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place??

One problem is: I can't find any detailed schematic for the seat itself. Is there such a thing?
There is also an issue with that 16 pin harness connector that I can't find any details on.
Here's where I need help:
On page EL-468 (2002 Pathy manual), they show connector B7 for the power seat.
That's the 2 pin connector that was buried in the carpeting (good so far, I thought).
The seat itself has nowhere to plug this into however. B7 has nowhere to go.
Instead, there's that 16 pin/plug connector on the seat itself that I cannot find any information on.

Ok, so back to EL-468: Next to B7, it shows B16. In the description for B16, it says "Via sub Harness".
Where do I find info on this sub harness? What is it exactly? I can't find any details regarding this 'sub harness'.
This 16 pin connector under the seat bottom is the connector that I somehow have to get 12 volts into (in order to power the motors in the seat.)
I went to EL-209 for the front seat wiring diagram, but it is pretty much useless. No mention of the 16 pin connector under the seat.
If you have time to have a look, great.
I've spent hours on this already, and have gotten nowhere.
Thanks.

As far as I can tell, everything you need is on page EL-209. You should just need +12 to pin 1 on the switch cluster and ground to pin 2 on the switch cluster. The +12 should be supplied by a yellow with a black stripe wire. The ground should be supplied by a black wire.

As far as power seats go, the 16-pin connector doesn't get involved.

The driver's power seat schematic is on EL-209 in the big rectangular box.

B16 is a different 16-pin connector. B52 is the one for the heated seats and is on page El-869.

All of the above from reading the schematics. No experience with heated seats or PF power seats at all (though I've been all through the power seats on the 'vette).

thanks.
I've looked at EL-209 until my eyes started to water.
The drivers power seat schematic on that page is essentially a black box. There's a lot more going on under the seat than is indicated on page 209.
Pins 1 and 2 on the switch cluster schematic refers to connector B7, which is the one that was buried in the carpet.
There is already 12v and ground on pins 1 and 2, (and they are the correct colours as well, y/b and black)
The problem is, there is no matching connector on the seat bottom. Connector B7 has nothing to plug into.
Also, the switch cluster on the side of the seat has about 6 wires coming out of it, and they all go to a circuit board under the seat.
The circuit board then has two large connectors, and a harness coming out of it.
None of this is in the schematics.
That's why I was wondering if there is a separate schematic for the seat itself.
I'll post a pic of the seat bottom (the seat is in my garage at the moment.)
BTW, getting at the switch cluster connector in the seat is almost impossible. I'd have to remove half the leather to get at it. Not happening.

OK, here are some pics of the underside of the seat.

This is the circuit board, and the 16 pin connector that I'm talking about.
I do not have any harness under the carpet that would plug into this connector.

Tried to capture the harness going to the switch cluster on the side of the seat.
You can barely see it in the middle of the pic. It is seriously buried in there. No way can I get at it without doing major surgery.

I don't know if this TSB would be helpful, maybe you've already seen it. Maybe the extra connectors relate to airbags or memory seats. Or ADP which moves the seat back when you shut off the car (you can turn this off with a dashboard switch). I actually replaced the motor in mine about a year ago and it still works. http://www.mediafire.com/view/lnmjtmzmj ... 0-095a.pdf

Hey, that's great info.
I saved/downloaded it.
If nothing else, the step by step description of how to take the seat apart is huge.
Now maybe I can get at that switch assembly and figure it out (tomorrow).
Thanks.

Update: You'll get a laugh out of this, although it wasn't funny at the time:
I blew the side airbag out of the driver's seat by mistake.

I had the seat unbolted, but still in the truck.
It was leaning back against the back seat so that the bottom was exposed. That way I could work on the electrics/harness/wiring.
I was kneeling on the driveway, with my head sort of under the seat and steering column.
I was messing with live wires when I accidentally put 12 volts on the air bag harness......POW!!!
Heard this massive explosion, and scared the crap out of myself. Thought it was something in the truck at first,
then realized that the side airbag in the seat had activated.
Wow, nothing like that slow motion billowy airbag thing you see on TV. This thing was powerful and instant.
It followed that up with an awful burning smell. I guess that was the powder charge going off.
Now there is a huge rip in the side of my seat where it blew out.
My seat is ruined.
I was pretty pissed off with myself at the time, but now I kind of see the humour in it.
I had to put my old cloth seat back in.
I'm looking for another seat from a wrecker.

Sorry but I was laughing my butt off.

Good luck in finding another one.
