315 a month for a 3.5 for 60 months is less than $19k, unless yours is pre-owned when you bought it I highly doubt that is the only payment. If you don't mind what did you put for a down payment and how many months did you take for the payment?

Yea Man, the best thing to do is negotiate the Car price, trade in and APR separately. They can make anything happen but screw you two other ways. Check out the company websites too to check for current incentives/offers that the dealer may neglect to bring up

Grats Couture on your 2010 coupe!

fuuuck adam you got ripped off on your 2.5... i'm paying $500/mo for my 3.5.give the g37 a test drive though, it drives niiiiiice. as for the $28k sticker you should talk them into giving you that out the door, although when i negotiated w/ beshoff they wouldn't budge too much on an used 07 c320 i was looking at. and the sales reps were a bunch of a**holes, i had to hunt one down because they apparently don't like college kids or some s*** . oh, and get a co-signer this time so you don't get raped by your APR

my $0.02

Well I got an interesting update for you guys.... The 1st night I was at the dealer the sales manager was asking me for the stock parts for my car as part of my trade in. Beyond that, it was never mentioned again.

When I took delivery on the car, they never asked for the stock goods back. Never a word about it and took my car as the trade in. Now a week later the Sales manager just left me a voicemail asking about brining in the stock parts? Can they actually do something like that? There was never anything on paper stating I would give them that and they already took my car as the trade-in. That's a done deal correct?

While as someone who is paying THEM money it might sound like a "done deal" since they took your car up front... but think if the situation was reversed.

You say it was a verbal agreement about the stock parts? Well think about it this way, if they were going to give you a nav system "free" with your purchase but you never got it on paper, and bought the car and later realized you didn't get the nav system... wouldn't you go back and ask them for it?

I say if that is what you agreed upon, then let them have the parts. Karma has a funny way of biting you right in the butt. I am sure I can think of a few examples for myself...

Oh, and since we're sharing our sales experiences...

Some of the dollar figures I saw on this post almost gave me a heart attack. Ok not really, but I can't believe you folks have paid what you have for your cars... especially the 2.5 crowd.

NEVER agree on just a certain monthly payment as a tactic to lower your cost....use that separately. Negotiate the actual car's sticker price way down and then keep an eye on the payments.... Also, be patient.. though that's a big "duh" I am surprised how many times I've given in to the sales tactics rather than walking OFF and let them simmer some for my business.

I bought my '09 3.5SE CVT for $23,000.... after 2 sessions of negotiating, 1 week apart. First time they barely settled for $24k, but I decided to walk out before signing the papers ($420/60 months, 6.9%) Next weekend they STILL had the car (the only 3.5 they had in a long time) and so THEY asked me how much I'd be willing to pay that day for me to drive out, I said (and I shoulda said something lower..) "$23k and I just might do it." Well they played their hi-low ball game and I got the price down from $28,xxx on the sticker to $23,000 that second visit. Paid $4k down and worked out $400/60 mos./6.xx % interest.

I've leased/bought 2 other Nissan's so maybe (just a little maybe) they let me get .

Haha my insurance is about $140 a month.. it HURTS.

I forgot to add in, that I declined their offers the first night and came to agreement over email a few days later. I understand what you are saying, but a dealer would never offer a free Nav or free anything. I don't even get my first oil change for free. They didn't make it part of the second negotiations nor did they mention it while I was there for two hours while they had me sign all of the contracts. Nor was this present on any of their contracts I signed.

I dunno, I can't see how they could expect me to hand over parts after they rushed me to take delivery the night I bought the car

Hmm I understand. Well I wasn't there so really I am just going off what I understand here. But with that said, you can stick it to them like they have probably done, and car dealers in general have done to customers for ages, and say "It's not written in the papers anywhere."

Oh well.

Everyone is so full of it... how much did you put down on the car? Monthly payments mean nothing until you include a down payment, trade in, etc

I can get a Ferrari for $200 month/ 60 months......

with $250,000 down.

I call that you got a brand new 08' for 17,000 out the door with tax, registration and all that other crap

Hey main thread guy, your 3.5 SR, you only got premium package and leather for 31.7 k? I mean like, navi should've been thrown in there too. I know the msrp is 34k ish but still yo i think you could've lowered the price a bitttt more. I'm getting one soon myself, finally :D

You will get a HIGHER apr % on a USED car loan. I was quoted 11-12% for a used Hyundia a few years back....when I had already bought my new Sentra for 6.x% just a month earlier. Yea screw that. It would have gone from a $12k Hyundai to a $16k after those payments.

Just keep that in mind when getting that used "G."

As for refinancing your existing coupe loan, I'd look to another bank and ask them about taking over the loan from your current lender and what kind of rate they can offer. You should get a better deal if you have your mom/dad cosign, but that whole cosigning thing can turn sour if you screw up your payments (for your folks' credit too..just remember).

damn, thank you for the advice. i'll stay away from the used lots, i think im just going to go join a local credit union and see what they can do for me.
