Possible Transmission Problems

Hi,

I know someone else posted this same message before, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I looked through all the pages under the J30 forum and cannot find it anymore. Please forgive me.

My 93 J30 takes a few seconds to switch from 1st to 2nd gear. I can force it to switch by letting up on the gas pedal or forcing it to go past 4rpm's.

Can someone help me? I am a female that don't know much about cars & I do not want to take it to a mechanic that will take advantage of my ignorance on cars.

Did your J show and error code?

Possible cause:1) Dirty Throttle position sensor connector2) Bad vehicle speed sensor
