The M60 the US Army uses today is actually two variants of the '42 series WWII German machine guns welded together.

The reciever from the MG42 (pictured above) was welded on to a FG42 (pictured below) and thus became the M60 standard infantry machine gun.

M60 fires 7.62x54R right? I've got an M44 Rifle (bolt action) fires the same round. In auto form.. wow.. powerful round. Nismo, know much about AKs?

<pause hijack> In regards to what MECP was saying about the flame deterant, I've seen a setup they use in Israel (?) as a theft deterance. The nozzle sits just under the door at a 45 degree angle. When triggered it shoots a flame up about 6 feet. It was hella cool. Also you can get a remote camera setup from Target for pretty cheap. Remote, color video camera, receiver, cables and whatever else you would need. Think its like $150 or something like that.

I'd just get multiple kill switches... If you're that worried unplug some stuff from the engine too when you're especially worried. Maybe a sensor or something, just disconnect it but don't make it look unplugged if you know what I mean. That way they'll have to fumble under the hood for a while before they can start it. If you're willing to spend an extra minute every time you can park you can easily make the car impossible to drive, and it'll take the average thief hours to figure out what you've done. Solutions that are easy for you are also easy for a thief. Some hood pins with little locks even.

The more anti-theft crap you put on the car the more time it takes to bypass it all. Just remember that. Nothing will make it impossible to steal, but you can definitely make it hard. Also, interior alarms are good. Nice 100db in the interior of the car... Would not make disabling it easy from inside the car.

Viper or someone makes an alarm with GPS, where you can actually track your car from a website. It requires monthly fees though. Not sure how much.

I always wanted to get a Concealed weapons permit... But when your car gets stolen from outside when you're sleeping it does not do you much good.

very true, but thats when the alarms with three sirens under the hood, ignition kill switch, fuel pump kill switch, and a sticker on the window saying "you will be killed if you try" works.

I think the flame throwers are legal over in Germany and The Czech Rep. as well. The small piezo sirens are hell to sit in a car with. Alot of people wanted them added to their cars and well I was always stuck installing them. Nothing like having the attach the power wire to the brain setting the piezo siren off for a few seconds as i fumbled with the remote. my head was about a foot away from the siren and my ears were ringing for a good 5 minutes after that.

I'm new here, but the last time I was in Long Beach even the cops were cruising by looking over my car. It's a stock 95' Black 240sxse, 30% tint all around with the antennas up looks like an undercover car. Think maybe the Arkansas tags and "Insanity at it's finest" on the bumper may have given it away. Both extra antennas are magnetic, one for the beartracker BCT12 and one for the CB(reworked for power). Also has a Viper alarm and immobilzer. Always carried my Smith 59 on shoulder harness w/3 extra clips at 15 rd ea, total 61 rounds. Didn't like being there.

I have a client on Ocean and Pine, in the Wells Fargo building. I live about 3-4 miles down Broadway (Junipero and 4th). When you drive through the neighborhood, it looks pretty nice. The houses are clean and what not. It's just that the ghetto *** people seem to be moving through these days. :(

I just called State Farm and got full coverage on my car. I have receipts for all of my modifcations and the work that I have had done. It sucks to have to pay more every month, but the piece of mind is worth it.

It's next to impossible to get a CCW in California. I've tried. Just about the only civilians who can get them are people like jewelers, who are carrying around valuables. I tried to convince them that the computer parts I drive around with are valuable, but that didn't work.

I hear that you can get CCWs for other states that will apply here in Cali too? Know anything about that? I want one so bad....

My CCW is issued in Arkansas. For a picture of my 240 go to http://www.zcaar.com the first page will have a gallery link under the 2004 events find the Superior group and the very last picture under Steve's pictures is the 240 title is "Z littlle 240". We were having our annual Z meet at Superior Nissan and since the 300 is in the shop we drove the 240sx. Haven't learned how to do pictures on this site yet. Thanks for the welcome. I gave my 97' to my 19 yr old daughter for graduation. It's identical to the 95'.

Whoever told you that is misinformed. Each state has their own laws and regulations regarding CCW. Cali is so strict that they even freak out on off-duty officers from other states walking around with firearms.

you could have a squared U shaped steel pipe 2 feet wide, 5 feet deep sunk into your driveway where you park. then on the car, attach something like an arrestor hook off a navy aircraft with a latch on it to the bottom of the car.

can't take the car without:1. spending lots of time cutting through the metal2. take the driveway too

Make a keyed kill switch. Yes,a KEYED kill switch with an ACE lock with are damn near impossible to pick. make sure when you mount it that they can't just pull it out and cross the wires, and also make sure that it is as hard as possible to trace the wires comign off of it. Put a car alarm on there, the loudest one you can find, and make sure to put one of the speaker things on the inside too. That way if they do try to do anything you can use your firepower to save your car. Another thing is put up some lights, like motion dector lights all around the car,and maybe a fence?Fence with rottweilers/pitbulls/dobermen? Also invest in a nice assault rifle. I have whats called Saiga .410 wich is an AK-47 that shoots 410 shells as fast as you can pull the trigger. They also have them in 12 gauge. Don't forgot to put a couple of wheel locks on there too. Most wheel locks are easily passable, but if you are that paranoid, then get a couple different sets,if nothing else by the time they firgure it out your car alarm will go off:)

EDIT: The cheapest route would be the ghetto-car alarm seeing as you live in long beach. Pitbull sleeping in the car overnight.

The U.S. armed forces gives us some of the best designs don't they:)
