So at Jhot we just got in a bad engine. It is an S14 SR20DE RWD and the flywheel looks to me like it is the exact same dimensions as a CA18DET clutch/flywheel 225mm right? Ill take pictures later on today.

sr20 rwd flywheel bolts on to ca, but its bigger diameter.

you have to use a different starter to acount for the change in ring gear diameter. you also ay have to clearence the inside of the bellhousing for pressure plate cfitment, depending on which clutch setup you use.

You can use an SR clutch if you use an SR flywheel with an S12 hitachi gear reduction starter. (no nose cone). You can use a regular S12 starter, but you might have to grind the nose down a bit to clear the pressure plate.

My short term memory is only 2 min long, so as far as I know, I'm NOT repeating myself.

It's great for the forum and sex. SHE doesn't like it, but hey, I don't remember that either!

I've already known this for a while..... don't treat me like I'm some ****ing dumb ***.

I guess everyone saw SR20 and didn't even realize I said SR20DE.

The S14 SR20DE clutch disc is 225mm in diameter just like the CA, just like the KA. I don't know if the S13 SR20DE is the same or if this is just a RWD size.

If anyone could tell me a measurement from tooth to tooth on a CA flywheel I will check it out during my break at work.

edit. HEY I tried to change my thread title, when I created this I realized after I originally posted that it said DET. DOH! Anyways I see the confusion.

My CA18DET I just received from JHOT was in bad shape...

It was hydrolocked when I first got the motor. I managed to turn the motor over and get it to start (Dont ask how) and than it starts knocking AND overheating... all within 1 day... Pulled the head and it had a blown METAL HEADGASKET and pulled the bearings and a few of them are chewed up pretty bad.... and I paid 1500.00 shipped.

I called up JHOT and they didnt want to do anything about it except for buy me a headgasket.... sio I just figured Id give up before things got bad... lol

Anyways... I cant wait to hear my CA run! But man was the Shipping from JHOT great!! Took 2 days.

All in all, I woulkd most likely buy rfom you guys again... I think I just got unlucky.. no point in whining.. what good is a CA on a stock headgasket anyways??

HEY

I'm the one you talked to. The only reason we suggested to replace the headgasket was that we didn't have any CAs instock to send you as a replacement. I need you to call me so we can get your motor fixed because you shouldn't have to pay for anything!

Well I'm in a better mood today thank god.

The measurements I got were: clutch disc is 225mm, flywheel is 275mm on clutch side, from tooth to tooth on the flywheel it is 280mm.

I took pictures of the disc/flywheel and some part numbers on them. I will be posting them up today some time after 1, we are getting our container today so I will be tied up a good bit.

Well we got a CA18DET back today. I can tell you for sure the S14 SR20DE flywheel is no where near the same as the CA. The width and diameter are off by a couple of Millimeters.

Oh well.
