I think there's some malware attached to the form site. Several times a promotional/'you won a gift card' website popped up while browsing the topics. It only happens when I visit the nico site. Have anybody else experienced this?

Yeah I get it on this website too. I thought it was an advertiser.

How timely of this thread to come up. I didn't know exactly where to post it.
It has been happening to me since around July, and only on mobile. I have an android phone. At first it was only on the m37/m56 subforum, then it started happening to me on all the 4 subforums I frequently visit (only on NICOLCUB though). I checked and rebooted all my apps, activated my kaspersky antivirus for the phone and even added an ad-blocker, but it seems I can't fight it.

Thanks for posting this.

I use Chrome with ad-blocking, so I don't see these at all ... will ask the site maintainers to look.

I haven't experienced any of these issues myself from any of my iOS or Android devices, but we have had other people bring up similar issues as well.

We are currently working on it behind the scenes and hopefully will have it fixed soon.

I can also vouch for having this pop up appear on a somewhat frequent basis

I get a redirect to install a chrome update. it only happens on this website. I would say about 10-20% of the time.

If you're only relying on an anti-virus program, your system is NOT as secure as it should/could be.

Start by securing your web browser with Adblock Plus
Make sure there's nothing lurking on your system that may have bypassed your anti-virus program:
SUPERAntiSpyware
Malwarebytes

Zombie Internet Browser Cookie -- It Can't Be Killed

Oh, and just so you know, the Fake Urgent Chrome Update may actually have come from a different website, like Facebook, and not reared it's ugly head until triggered by another ad on NICO (that's the Trojan horse scenario).

I only see this issue when I am using any of iOS devices. I have repeatedly reformatted my iPhone and iPad and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't encounter this issue if I am on any Windows laptop or desktop.

Same here, only iOS issues. I find it ironic that it just happened while trying to respond to this post....

Hey guys, this started bothering me again when I'm on my phone. It seems like pages load very slowly on mobile as well as the scammy sites hijacking pages..

The admins are aware of the problem and I believe some changes are being made to the platform ATM.
Update:
Changes are being made alright, but not for the pop up sites. It seems the popup issue isn't internal to Nicoclub. I probably have something in my phone that I can't shake off. Since it only rears its ugly head when on Nicoclub... continued below

Meanwhile, to avoid the slow loading and popups, I have found that on my Android phone checking the "Request Desktop Site" option makes both problems go away on that tab. I just have to zoom into pages as the layout changes, but so far so good.
