my 93' coupe was super uncomfortable when i got it. i knew the springs were cut and i replaced the front springs with stock springs from the junkyard. way better now.. only problem is my car's center balance is completely thrown off. now im deciding on what springs to buy.

im looking for a low sleek look without that ugly wheel gap and comfortable not too bumpy. don't want it too low that it scraps everywhere i go. help me out yall.

Get Koni adjustable shock bodies and Eibach Sportlines. Call them coilovers and very few people will know the difference.

Springs don't lower the car that much. Go coilovers if you have the cash.

I had the combo I suggested above on my car when I sold it. This was on 16s. With 17s the gap is even less.

It wasn't ridiculously low, but it still scraped on some driveways and over some speed bumps. You can't have it all, I'm afraid.

I would say coilovers, but we don't all live with our parents. I say go with the cheapest springs you can find for now until you have $1200 to burn. I had Espilir on my last car. They were pretty awesome except for my blown rf strut. Just go ahead and go ghetto for now. You'll thank yourself later.

Hey I see you're from Fresno. I lived there for a few months back then. My mom still lives there now.

Anyways, if you got a 240(especially a S13). You got to go coilovers, it's like an unofficial rule But on a serious note, you'll be glad you did though.

right. It makes no since to put suspension made for circuit racing, or racing period on a car that's not going to be used for such a purpose. Unless you have an abundance of money, and don't mind it depreciating upon investment. Other people have bills and gotta eat.

See if Bilstein makes suspension for your car. I've known those to be able to accept a drop as low as 2". Springs, Tien S.Tech should be good. Another choice is Tokico's suspension kit. They make one that has adjustable shocks (Illuminas) and another that doesn't (Blues).

Something like this will lower 1":http://www.phantasmusa.com/tokicohpk249.html

It's not much, but it's something.

True, not everyone needs coilovers, but why spend $500-$600 on springs and struts. When you can add $100-$200 more, to get decent set of adjustable coilovers. Also a lot of people with the lowering springs aren't fully satisfied with the 1", 2" drop either and eventually go with coilovers anyways.

if you must buy spring and shock setupbuy Tein Basics instead..you can get em for around 700-800 bucks

the spring rates are low.. and its prob all you'd need

but still.. save up a lil cash and get fully adjustable coils..

for that price, you can get megan streets. it has better spring rates, 32 way adj. dampening, pre-load, and camber plates... all of which aren't included in Tein basics

he clearly doesn't want a coilover with characteristics of a common coilover

Tein basics have ghey spring rates and no camber plates.. just like a spring and shock setup..

he doenst want coilovers.. Tein basics r the next best thing( i don't consider Tein basics coilovers...)

Yep I agree. For that much I'd go for Megan Street Coilovers

people get shocks and springs because its cheaper, and if its meant as a DD for the streets, not everybody wants a stiff ride. they want a lower stance without sacrificing much comfort.

i have kyb agx/ tein stechs and im perfectly fine with it. i can clear speed bumps normally and not have to worry about taking one coilover off to overhaul it. (since you cant buy it individually)

sometimes i wish my car was lower but its not that big of a deal for a DD.

btw tein basics ****ing sucks. the valving of the shocks and everything about it is gay.

just buy a set of springs for like 100$ or less, put them on stock struts, so what they'll blow after not that long, but in the meantime you can save for coils if you want, or just keep buying cheap sets of used struts for 40$ each time they blow... i have megan springs on stock struts, ride is still good, 2" drop. and yes, im saving for coils, but that'll happen when it happens.

Buying all that crap will be money wasted that can be used to buy a set of decent coilovers.

Patience is virtue.
