Megan Track Series Spring Rates: 12kg Front and 10kg Rear

Megan Street Series Spring Rates: 8kg Front and 6kg Rear

i need them for daily driving which will be the majority of its life sadly and once or twice a year track use. will the track series be too aggressive? both have 32-way damper adjustments. need your opinions..

oh.. i enjoyed the shoes video. thanks for that and i'd rather not die so..

Fixed. Want comfy, get coilovers built for comfort (ex Tein Flex). Shocks and springs are ok, but sooner or later you're gonna end up getting coilovers because you'll grow tired of shocks and springs. So why buy **** twice?

this thread is so full of misinterpertation its not even funny, kind of makes me mad

thats the 240sx scene these days

90% of people here think "japanese" coilovers are the best and nothing else compares..... 2% don't care, 6% hasn't had this propaganda rammed down their throats yet, and the remaining 2% actually know whats better.....

japanese coilovers suck.... if you truely want a good handling car for track, and got the bucks..... you can get better..... everyone acts like if its not JDM coilovers you suck....... well let me rephrase that, JDM kits don't suck, just everyone acts like they are the best, and thats FAR from the truth

their struts are like K-mart level quality compared to what you can get... not to mention only like ONE company in Japan actually valves their struts for the springs and has proof to back it up

of course, 90% of people also used to call the KA a truck motor and a piece of sh1t a few years back..... my how that has changed..... folks will learn... either that or trends will change

^^ Thread Digger!!

Your post didn't even give any examples of a good suspension setup. So I'm wondering, why did you bring this back?

It wasn't ridiculously low, but it still scraped on some driveways and over some speed bumps. You can't have it all, I'm afraid.
What wheels are those and specs please?

A thread digger he may be, but I'm with him on this one. Everyone seems to think height adj coilovers are the best thing EVER! But most budget coilovers are crap, they ride harsh, they bounce unnecessarily and they don't make your car handle better than a good spring/strut combo (unless you get a race alignment). Plus they cost more.

This only makes sense since a good set of dampers alone (koni) will cost you $600+ , then you have to cut apart your stock struts (more $/time), add springs, (dust boots, camber plates etc. are optional) Most coilovers come with all this stuff that you would normally need to pay more for.

Really they are best for people who are looking for the 'perfect ride height' so they can tailor it to whatever that may be.

For the record I have Silkroad coilovers. I bought them because I listened to everyone say 'coilovers are the best' and Silkroad has a reputation for being the smoothest of the coilovers under $2000. Well, I am ditching them after less than 5000 miles for koni setup.

There's my opinion, for whatever it's worth.

Your wife is awesome! I love people that think that way! If you want only an inch or inch and a half of lowering, it seems that coilovers aren't as 'perfect. Is that so?

I think you are better off using coilovers, because you can drive to the track with your street tires, rises the car up if you are putting slicks on and at the end of the day you can lower the car back down.

If you are going to be using your car heavily for daily driving and occasional track days, Tein Basics would probably be the best option. But if you are going to hit the track a lot, go with a good set of coilovers. I personally own JIC's FLT A1's because they have a softer spring rate then the A2's for streetable driving. It is still a little stiff for daily driving but I have gotten use to it. I am thinking of getting a used set of KYB's with drop springs for daily driving because passengers in my car really dont like the way my car hurts them.

i have ksport lowering coils on my s13. with agxs i'd liek to try the konis but my car drives real well. i had the tein stechs i belive originally and hated them the ksports are much nicer. i'd love to own a set of coils but until my driving ability begins to surpass my cars ability i think i'll stick with cheap

^^That's the price for being chauffeured around.

I have KYB GR-2s with Tein-S Techs. I got em used, both rears started leaking recently, but the ride is ok. Still to much front wheel gap for my taste, but I'm on a budget and wanted to ditch the stock suspension. She only scrapes if you take a corner hard, I'll be getting sway bars soon, maybe to remedy it, if not, oh well. I'd prefer coil overs, but it's not a necessity right now, I only drag/drift once in awhile.

I have no pics atm, I'll run out and snap a few in a bit.

EDIT - My cameras screwed up, I have to borrow my sisters camera later, I'm on lunch break right now.

Im running Ksport springs on my KYB AGXs and I like them enough not to want coilovers...

Theyre progressive rate and drop 1.8" all around, not to mention just as cheap as S. Techs...

I'm running K sport GT springs and tokico blues. I want to go with an adjustable strut because i drag race and starting to get my feet wet in autocross.

KYB AGX or Tokico illuminas? I have had tokico blues on my last 4 cars so I am partial to tokico.

First I bought the Tanabe...those had some bounce to them, then I picked up some tiens which I'm running at the moment. so I put the tanabes on my lil' sisters 240, she likes them. BUT now I some stance coilovers on the way.

if ride comfort is an issue you shouldnt be considering buying megans. they're bouncy. according to your original post you may as well just get lowering springs and disregard what everyone else said about buying coilovers. coilovers are very convenient because you can set your ride height at whatever you want and adjust it whenever you want. also the performance gains are phenomenal but you sacrifice ride comfort when you go that route unless you buy a good set which gets pricey. megans as well as any other coilover you can buy for a grand or less are going to be bouncy. but according to what you are asking for you dont want them anyways.

and by the way lowering springs arent going to solve you're wheel gap. i dont know how much gap you are trying to eliminate but if you want to be flush then you'll need coilovers.
